Left and Right Fuel Pump E55 AMG

I finally figured out what is wrong with my car. A certified repair shop said my left fuel pump is dead and my right pump is about to die and I should replace both of them. The cost for this is 1900 (1300 for the parts and 400 for the labor..not including taxes). Does anyone know where I could get this done for a cheaper price? I live in the Dallas, Texas area. The certified repair shop said he didn't want to use customer supplied parts (If I bought the fuel pumps and brought them to him).

The cheapest you will find the pumps is about $500-$550. An honest rate for labor is 2-3 shop hours usually @ $90 per hour.
Unfortunately, it isn't a cheap fix.

The lesson I learned today: If you want to go fast drive a corvette, camaro, or a mustang. If you want style or prestige drive a mercedes or bmw (just not fast). LOL! Sports cars are designed to go fast, luxury cars are not regardless of how much power they have. Sports cars are easier and cheaper to work on. Unless I end up a wealthy or rich man I'll never buy another high end luxury car again.

Unfortunately the maint costs do not depreciate with high end cars.

ALso get the large, black, plastic nuts that hold the assembly in. Unless you/they have the proper service tool, you'll booger them up.

While in there, I'd replace the filter assembly on the other side too. If you are over 50K and it's not been replaced, I guarantee you that it needs it. Since you're already in there AND it attaches to the pumps, it's kinda a no-brainer. (except for the cost of the part--which is another $500 tough ones).

If you were close, I'd lend you a hand. It's an easy DIY.

This place is a joke.
Tell your certified repair shop there is no fuel pump on the left side.

Well, technically there IS a right and left pump since they sit next to each other in the holder-assembly.

I'm pretty sure for both I paid 1500 or so out the door in Las Vegas, NV.

You must be a rocket scientist to have figured that mystery out....
