Launching an E55 AMG out the hole

What is the best way to launch an E55 AMG out the hole? Does the CLS55 AMG launch quicker since it has wider tires?

there was a thread on here and someone had it down pretty good. If I recall correctly you put it in Sport mode and suspension in sport 2, ESP off...hold the RPMS around 2000-2500..mash the pedal then let half way off for a split second then hit it again... i just got my E55 so again..its been a while since i been on this forum.

What should the 0-60 time be if you do it right? How about a 1/4 mile run?

My car is stock (I think). I purchased it used about 2 months ago and I have Continental tires (I believe these are stock also). Do you think the CLS launches better than the E (both stock)?

CLS has 19" tires. The smaller sidewall makes it harder to get a solid launch. There isn't much tire to flex from a dig.

All things considered, the E is a better drag car.

Stock car w/ stock wheels and tires, if you've raced before, I'd say 1.8x all day. If not then 2.xx until you figure it out.

Don't ever put it in Sport2. It lowers the car. You need it in comfort and RAISED (it will lower on its own) for better weight transfer on the launch. Helps keep the tires flat and reduces chances of spinning.

E55 Dimon: LOL!!!!!

Red Bull: When you say raised and comfort do you mean comfort mode suspension or should the car be raised to its highest point? I'm still trying to figure out how the suspension works. As far as the transmission goes is manual mode or sport mode better? Also should the ESP be turned off? Thanks Bro!

Both.
I use manual, but everyone will say sport mode, buy using the shift buttons, in 1st gear. Then let it shift on its own. But that's up to you. I never let it shift on its own.
ESP off

yea raised front end in M mode, stall to 1800rpm and let the throttle rip about 3/4 of the way down, then all the way down once traction is fully caught and then quickly press the button to go into S mode, all before switching out of first gear. at least for a stock E55.
