I just might be jumping ship!
The car doesn't have the violent/raw thrust like the E55s, but it is a tick faster, stock for stock. I actually think the interior looks great, on par or even slightly better than the E55.
All in all, you can't go wrong:
1) Better straight line performance
2) Better handling
3) Likely will have factory warranty remaining (modded or stock?)
4) Overall, just a newer car with new technology in it

The -V sedan in pearl white is the exact one I would have. Something about it just looks.... So wrong and yet - so right.

2012 CTS-V - MSRP: $63,215.00 | 2012 E63 - MSRP: $88,900.00
PetroC63 Stage 1 mods: $4000.00 | ReNNtech ECU Tune: $3,495.00
American Racing Headers $1000.00 | ReNNtech Down Piper w/cats: $2,940.00
Headers Labor (Approx): $600.00 | Down pipe Labor (Approx): $600.00
Total:
New CTS-V - $68,815.00
New E63 - $95,935.00
PetroC63 - $67,215 (minus the headers + labor)
Used CTS-V (say 45K + all parts & labor ($5600) - $50,600.00
Used E63 (say 73k+ all parts & labor ($7035) - $80,035.00
The math is pretty clear. The biturbo's are awesome machines, but the price for entry is outrageous.
) almost pulled the trigger on a v because unlike some ppl on this board I think the V looks bad a$$
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
In terms of prestige, well a Benz is a Benz. There aren't many premium cars that have a Better rep, but surprisingly Caddy reputation has greatly improved and has a huge following. Especially from my older friends, relatives, and admirers lol.

when u buy the AMG ur paying for the prestigious symbol first and for way higher quality leather, wood etc etc, thats were the extra money comes into play. Dont have a V but a 2010 escalade EXT and the leather is cracking like crazy so is the dash board. ive said it before the build quality just doesnt stand the test of time in the interior anyway. now motor is a whole different story, their rock soild ! IM not bias either (maybe a little
) almost pulled the trigger on a v because unlike some ppl on this board I think the V looks bad a$$I can understand the attraction of cheap mods to make a V fast, but don't know that it is worth selling a W211 E55 and adding $20k+ just to get into a V.
Why not just wait until Weistec and Speedriven sort out their SC upgrade and you should have a bulletproof E55 running mid to low 10's (maybe even high 9's) for no more than $10-$15k.
The only thing I really hate about my E55s that it does not have a 6 speed manual!
Here are my runs:
2005 Mercedes Benz E55 AMG (S/C) 134.77 137.04 136.91 136.55 135.75 134.54
What I was saying is that you need to add @$20k on top of what you can get for your E55 just to get into a stock V. Then you need to spend additional money for mods to the V.
Is it really worth spending $20k on top of what you sell your E55 for to get into a stock V when you can spend $15k or less on a Speedriven or Weistec SC upgrade for your E55 to put you into the high 9's or low 10's?
I understand fully about the statement of $20k more and then $4k to mod but the point is that when I am done with the V it will still have a value of let's say $33k or so, on a low end after a year or two (I do not put many miles on cars). If I mod my car then it is worth the same money after I put $10k into it and after hearing all of the horror stories about many of these mod guys...I just can't take it. Who do you trust to do it right near me? Also, my car has 83k mi on it so who knows what might go wrong after a few more mods. Anyway, modding the V is simple and there is still warranty, I know a few caddy dealers and they will warranty it.
If I am not making sense then I will clear it up in the morning...very tired now as I just walked in the door. Thanks again all!

E55 is about $20K today and CTS-V $40K the price tag still double.......
Note:
Only sedans were produced in 09-10
The coupes appeared in 11
The wagons came in 12 (I'm not 100% sure about this one)
There are plethora of special trims and color options offered over the years especially from 2011 on.
Clean carfax...no paint work...hopefully it is mint but I am guessing that it is.
