Thanks, it is an M156 record but there is an SLR that ran 9.68 a year or so back which is the Mercedes world record. Once you see, or should I say hear the video you will see we left a lot on the table. The 9.75 was done with a lot of peddling, could not find traction. The car made several 9.xx passes and several 150+mph passes on Sunday. This was our first time out at a quarter mile with the car(in this state of tune and set up) and we were really still dialing everything in. I was really hoping to be able to soend an entire day running the car at Ahmads event but instead only got a handful of passes at Atco. I am still very happy with the outcome and the results thus far. Weistec has busted their butts building me this car and making sure it is fast, reliable and safe.
Stay tuned for the video and slips.

Yes 153 is a trap record but we already had that record if I am not mistaken. I want the ET record. Right now I think I have 60ft record, trap record and 60-130 record.

Thanks Ahmad, I really think that if we would have been able to run at MIR at your event the number would have been a VERY low 9 or possibly even a high 8, once you see the video you will see and hear how much peddling was done to acheive the 9.75. Your event would have allowed use nearly unlimited passes and allowed us to dial in a few things as where the ATCO event was an actual organized Import vs Domestic event which only allowed for limited passes with 8-10 oil downs allowing for even less runs. Thanks again for everything, hopefully I can make it out to another one of your events very soon.

Jim, congrats on the run and killer trap. Car is moving for sure.
Whats the curb weight if you don't mind me asking. I have always been curious and many say the BS is still not a light weight.

You guys running 10's and less, do they ever give you grief or kick you off the track for not having a cage? Just curious as I'm moving near a 1/4 mile track and I have already bench-raced my way into the 10's. If (when!) it happens for real, I don't want to get booted and I sure as hell don't want to install a cage.

I remember when I was trying to get a 10 second pass, then a 9second pass, I can not beleive we are now discussing the probability of an 8 second pass. FWIW I ran a 12.1 second pass with this car when it was bone stock, 2.35 seconds migt not sound like a lot but if you saw a 12.1 second car line up next to me you would be stunned by the difference.

We were getting hassled when the car started dipping in the 7's in the 1/8 mile and 10's in the 1/4 mile. The 6 point roll bar worked well until the low 10 second mark and the 6.99 1/8 mile mark. After that it was all over. The officials basically said we need a full cage, chute, window net, etc. Private rentals are typically much less stringent on the safety aspect. Hope this helps.

That is odd, I ran a 6.9 1/8th and 10.7 1/4 my first time to the track in my Cts-v and they said as long as I have a fire jacket and helmet I am good to a 10.0 1/4 mile according to the new NHRA rule for 2008 and newer cars. Regular ole test n tune night at Gainesville raceway where the Gatornationals are held, a legit NHRA track.

Never even asked me for a fire jacket!

That is moving!!!!! Great to see the Black in person, but too bad weather wasnt cooperating. Also good to talk to you JR about the car and shift sector runs you did.

Not sure where else it's held but locally to me we have "No E.T. Nationals" one Saturday every month during the race season. The only tech at this event is helmet, nitrous vent (if required), and battery cutoff (if required). This is where all of our 8sec street cars go when they want better prep conditions. I've gone 9s with nothing but a helmet... guys are dippin into the 8.20s with no cage at my local track.

Some tracks are more lax than others, just depends on the track. When I run at Byron they do not even ask to see a helmet, the first time I went through tech inspection there I handed the guy my helmet and he asked me if I was showing off LOL(100% true story). When I run at Route 66 raceway they look at everythng, even had a guy up under my car trying to see if my crank pulley was SFI certified, they check the expiration dates on my SFI harnesses and SAE rating on my helmet, checked for wheel studs and steel valve stems. We ran at Irwindale 1/8th mile in July or August and got kicked off for going to fast without a full cage with side/door bars. With the hundreds of thousands of dollars I have dumped into the car I finally said screw it and told Wesitec to build it so it can tech at any track in the country for 8.50 passes.

Complete garbage, lol. I was 11.60 @ 122 at home BEFORE E85/water injection/4psi bump. Ran a 12.8 @ 119 (2.3 60') with the traction control pissed off the entire time. If I don't keep traction control on the first two gears are pointless, I'm considering trying to start in 2nd or 3rd without TC. The car is absolutely faster than it used to be... I just can't put it down anymore. Freeway racing is what this car is all about, but I'll likely throw some slicks on it in the spring just to get a decent time out of it.
