I hear full slicks are more forgiving for driveline parts

I think it was a 1.70 on 285/18s Conti DWS all-season tires. If memory serves it was an 11.40@120ish. Car didn't make as much power as it does now, as you can tell from the mph.

If I don't keep traction control on the first two gears are pointless, I'm considering trying to start in 2nd or 3rd without TC. The car is absolutely faster than it used to be... I just can't put it down anymore. Freeway racing is what this car is all about, but I'll likely throw some slicks on it in the spring just to get a decent time out of it.

You need sticky tires bro!

Bias ply is going to be a little lighter and have sidewall wrinkle, so it will help with driveline shock. If I continue to run it, I'm doing the 16" CLK rears with Hoosiers.

My car is old-tech now, and not really considered fast anymore. It's only seen weekend Costco duty and getaways with the Mrs. for the last year. And it's a damn near perfect car for that. Not sure I wanna keep tracking it and risk breaking stuff anymore. The thing literally runs show room new. Can't even feel it idle.

You'll definitely need those sticky tires once you get that Weistec SC installed.

MIR is having their last test and tune of the season on Sunday. the weather forecast is looking chilly but 0% chance of rain by the time it opens at 10 AM. The DA is projecting to be -2,180 to -1,850 between 10 AM and 1 PM.... I think I am heading down there to do a couple of runs.

I should be in the 126-127 range myself, which is why the 119 was so frustrating.

Do you know what your race weight is? A friend of mine and I drove from Michigan to MIR and jumped on the scale fully loaded... 4970 with a half tank With the weight out, I was sitting at 4370 (minus my 202lb fat ***)

Is that a 17" wheel? That's a lot of sidewall... what's the tire size?

Oh I know, I've got plenty of time in at the strip with my BMWs, Cobras, Hondas, etc. I didn't want another clear skies car like my current Cobra so I threw the RS3s on it (at a ridiculous deal). I wanted the E55 to be the all weather summer daily driver, I have the Cobra for retarded weekend use. Though, I keep modding the E55 so I should have just bit the bullet and thrown DRs on from the beginning

I see this pic and I bring my nose close to the computer screen to smell the new rubber. Thinking of the white smoke getting so thick the car starts to stink inside makes me smile knowing its go time. EVIL

Then I find myself feeling exactly the same as BOR just enjoying a quick highway blast or 50 mph rolling burnouts. SOMEWHAT LOGICAL THINKING

BACKROOM TEMPTATION IN A STRIP CLUB

Instead of walking away Tom is here passing me the funnel and: "It taste so good once it hits your lips." I'm no Frank the Tank on this one. Sometimes I'm glad I'm 6hrs away otherwise I wouldn't have much car left.

I don't know if any of you guys are closer to Atco but they are still open...I am going to tomorrow to improve my times with the V...just letting you all know. It's a decent track. I think next weekend they run too...I know that Friday day is a T&T as well.

I went back and got two runs in today, would've been silly to just drive back to MI after the rain out. 2.3 60fts and my traps were 6-7mph off from back home. Walked DC most of yesterday and got silly with an old friend and some ladies in Baltimore last night at a local bar, no complaints
Yea definitely.

Sucks about the times, you should have used my drag radials but I understand not wanting to break so far from home. At least the trip wasn't a total failure!

It was fun catching up with everyone. We made a few hits at Atco and the car ran a best of 9.75 @ 153 mph and a 4.32 60-130 mph. Track prep was decent but the car was having trouble out of the hole. 1.60's 60 ft on our best pass. We have videos and pics coming soon! Thanks guys!

Thanks for making the trip out. Can't wait to see the low 9s I'm sure you will run next time out.

You will get the ET record next time out Plenty of power. What is your best 60'?

Your event would have allowed use nearly unlimited passes and allowed us to dial in a few things as where the ATCO event was an actual organized Import vs Domestic event which only allowed for limited passes with 8-10 oil downs allowing for even less runs. Thanks again for everything, hopefully I can make it out to another one of your events very soon.
Yea a rental is much better than a test n tune. Look forward to seeing quicker times

I will probably do a small rental in the near future. Pm me your cell number if you want me to let you know when it goes down

Unfortunately its closed due to "cold weather" and that marks the end of the MIR racing season.

Yes, Black Friday also is T&T as well. Today was grocery getter day so all cars were 15 sec or slower! They also had a T&T and track was just not prepped as good as it will be on the day after Thanksgiving or like it was last Friday. I couldn't hook at all but after adjusting my shift points I got the MPH way up. Went 133.66 mph so it wasn't a total waste for me and after 3 runs I bailed out and came home. If you guys are going then I will go as well next Friday. Keep me posted on here and we will watch the weather.

FWIW I weighed my E55 at the track. 4350lbs with myself and half-tank of gas.
