Affordable Coilovers: Megan Racing
I have found a couple sets going for under a grand. They're not new by any means but perhaps to this market they havent been recognized as I havent seen any talk about them. Megan has been known to be that askhole that reversed engineers other people's parts but they're also known to do a pretty good job at it and at a more than affordable price - often to the demise of the original part maker.
Any rate they finally put fittings on their coilover to fit our e55, also sounds like they picked a moderate spring rate. My only complaint reading about it is inability to adjust rebound separately from compression. But it still has 32 positions of ride stiffness. Shock is most likely valved 50/50 on rebound/compression like most mid level shocks.
Some one should be a guinea pig for us and write a review. If I had like the 20 other parts from my E55 list which are more important than Coilovers purchased already I really wouldn't have a problem trying them out. Their stuff despite the cost is pretty good stuff. Used quite a few parts on another car.

I have not looked at the ones for our cars but I have installed a few other sets and as long as you don't go with the base stuff (ez streets) they are a good product. When dealing with the ez streets we had adjustability issues from the moment they came out the box.

BC Racing >>> Megan
Megan may come up with a decent product every so often, but they're simply a shop that knocks off everyone else's products via China. I've seen too much of their stuff come in looking like crap or breaking.
That said, BC does business locally and I've always seen nothing but good reviews of their product.

I've used Megan and for my model car all their products were solid. I've also read quite a few satisfied reviews of their coilover for the DSM guys so I'm not counting this product out.

I have KSport Coilovers and they've been more than reliable for me. Others have successfully used KSport and D2 Coilovers with no issues. Most members prefer KW V1-3.

Megans are the same as D2 as the same as Apexi as the same as Greddy. They are all made by the same factory in Taiwan. I have two sets of megan ez streets.
I have it at the most aggressive setting on my FD (car in signature). I tackled the tail of the dragon with it with no problem. Ive had others who have driven the same car in same road commented how much they liked them esp compared to +$2000 coil over setups on their own car.
I also have ez streets on my Lexus SC300. I have them at the most softest setting. Rides like OEM. Wide range of height adjustabiliity. Ive had them on my car for under 3 years and over 40000 miles. Not a problem. Even thought my SC is low, there's prob another 2" of height left to adjust.
The only downside is the EZ streets are 15 way dampening and their other products are 32 way. For just over $600 its not a bad option.

You are furthering my point. Get a dictionary, or better yet, a book on dampers. Like i said, if you dont konw the difference between damping/dampening and a dampener/damper, you have no business giving a review of a suspension component, even if it's a crappy Chinese knockoff.

Maybe for someone beyond the most basic understanding of how a damper works, the semantics can become quite irritating. My point still stands; people w/o the most basic knowledge of how a damper works, are hardly qualified to write a suspension review, but that's just my humble opinion.
