Today was a good day..

In light of good things happening, let me vent for a second about the bad.

I drove up to a shop on Barrington and Olympic, I saw a huge MBZ repair specialist sign and I thought I'd stop in to see what they were all about. I needed the headers installed and wanted to know what a "MBZ Specialist" indy would charge. The boss comes out and before saying hello or anything to introduce himself or his business he blurts out "Your suspension is broken, you need all new suspension. I need to put your car on a lift and take apart your whole suspension, it's the only way to get you an estimate". I politely got back in my car and left. Your car can never be too low.

I drove to my new spot on Lincoln in SM. On the way, I called AAA Muffler just for curiosity. Just for the 10 years of business, just for the thousands of dollars in business I've sent them, just for old times sakes. I called and asked what the install for some heads would cost on an CLS AMG. The guy, his name escapes me, tells me that its a huge job and he needs to pull the motor. He tells me that it will take two days and will cost a MINIMUM of $1000. Even after a 10 year relationship, after all the business I sent that shop, he still has the ***** to tell me that he needs to pull the motor to install some headers. Let it be known here, now, AAA MUFFLERS IS A RIP OFF AND IF YOU GO THERE, YOU WILL BE MADE LOVE TO WITH OUT LUBE.

The sound out of the heads is unreal. Sounds like a drag car but fancy.

This will probably be my next performance mod. Where did you end up installing them, and how much did they charge?

if you mistakenly asked the shop owner to install heads and not headers like you said in this post, that's probably why he wanted $1000.

Congrats on the shiny pipes, did you keep the catalytic converters?

^This... "Heads" is a much bigger job than "headers".
Congrats on the header install, they sound even better after a couple hundred miles of breaking in.

I got them installed at a spot on Lincoln. Not sure the name but its directly across the street from McDowls.

Got them from Cory, standard pricing. Also, Cory is the man, A+++ guy in my book.

You guys are correct, I asked for Kleeman header install not "heads". I tried to tell the guy the simple install instructions and he kept saying that it was wrong, he would need to pull the motor out. Anyhow, lesson learned..

You should have gone with Benzworks or someone that actually knows what they are doing....I'll bet $5 that you develop an exhaust leak....
