On my 600 about once a year or 7k mi. On my c43 or the ml55 I do it when it's due. After doing hundreds if not thousands of 112/113 oil changes, from what I've seen, if you do it around when its due or before its due the engine will last longer than the rest of the car. Usually the only engines that look dirty inside or make noise that i see are the ones that go to quick lubes and use cheap filters etc. you are perfectly safe going until the cluster says its due but some people (including myself) feel its cheap insurance to change it sooner.
I have seen a n/a cl55 go 35,000 mi on 1 oil change that was bad but it still ran ok, the lifters were a little noisy though. he blamed it on the cluster never telling him it was due.
I just did the first oil change on a g63 a few weeks ago, at 21,000 mi and he had prepaid maintenance. Go figure.

I send my oil to Blackstone after every oil change, they say I can stretch it to 8-9k with plenty of wear additive left, but I usually change the oil between 7k-7.5k miles

Every 4000 miles for the past 19,000 I've owned the car I'm sure 6000 miles or so
Would be ok but it's just for piece of mine, why not ? Only 100 dollars. Plus I live in a very hot and humid climate and drive hard ! I also don't think oil filter would last 10,000 miles, maybe it will just sharing my opinion and Peference.

sounds about the right price given the amount of synthetic... actually < $60 if you use the links below (and you even have some oil left over!)
OIL CHANGE
Mobil 0W40 (5-qt) - need 2 of these $23/ea @ WalMart for an 8.5-9qt oil change
Mann-Filter HU 718/5 X Metal-Free Oil Filter $9.32
Oil Drain Plug; 14mm Diameter, 24mm Length $1.43/ea (need 2)
Oil Drain Plug Gasket; 14mm Copper Seal Washer; 14x20x1.5mm $0.25/ea (need 2)
sometimes time = money though, $100 for an AMG oil change is pretty good

Every 3500-4000 miles for me, which equates to about 2 times a year.
And for only $100-$120, it's best to keep it as fresh as possible.
I even change my beater Toyota Camry's oil ever 3000 miles.

With modern synthetic oils, there's really no reason to follow the old 3k adage. It's all marketing.
Still, it would make sense to do it every 6-8 months if your car sits and doesn't get driven past about 6k miles in that time.

Agreed. I've gone as far as 11,000 miles with a perfect lab report, but always serviced (don't forget the coolant and break fluids) just prior to going into the annual 7-8 month storage. Present mileage is 63,000.
