5K - 7K but the closer to 5K the better for me. Probably don't need to worry but cheap insurance I guess.

DO NOT USE AFTERMARKET FILTERS!!!!!! Dont get cheap. Either buy the filter from MB/ MB parts distributor/ or buy the Mann filter (our filter is produced by MANN). Ive seen way too many of the cheap filters either not fit correclty (causing oil pressure drop/ oil not being filtered), or ive seen them all mangled, either from not fitting correclty, or just deteriorating and coming appart from poor part quality.

I change mine every 3-4k using Motul 8100 x-cess 5w-40 and a MB/MANN filter. Ill be due to change the oil soon and I will send a sample to BlackStone. Im curious to see how the sample results come back because I have 146,000 miles.

Toadster- driving one of these machines on a road course is like no other! I don't show up at a single track event where other drivers aren't surprised that these things absolutely tear it up no problem. Just a little heavy in the turns.....

I change every 3-5 K and only use mb filter. Other filters tend to collapse and block oil flow.

This place is a joke.
MB filter and Mobil 1 5w/40 every 5k miles. Engine looks spotlessly clean inside. I use the service counter in the cluster...only resetting it every other oil change, so I do the second oil change when it says 5000 miles remaining.

I change my oil every 5k. If there is a track event that I attend, I'll usually change out right after it.

That's not an AMG engine. However, I don't think it would hurt. Check on the 430 CLK forum for specifics though.

every 5k and before winter storage, OEM filter, Mobil1 0-40 with and added viscosity modifier specific for synthetic oil. No lifter bleed down issues or ticks on startup. No track time LOL.

I just run my oil forever until it looks like this, then I sell the car.

Can you imagine anyone ever doing that??

Mobil 1 and an MB filter every 5k - alternating between dealer and home. Changing oil is a pleasure, not a burden.

I don't see why its a waste just because the manufacturer says 10k is OK. They tell us not to change the trans oil or ABC oil! If they wanted to reduce the cost of maintenance, they should reduce the overheads, not the work.

Its my motor and I'll decide how its maintained.

I always use Mobil1 - 0W40 Euro formula synthetic and fleece filters as well, I drive about 3150 miles per year so it gets changed once per year. I use an extractor and get 8.4 -8.5 qrts out each time and fill with exactly 8.5. It is always clean when it comes out warm to hot.

last change I purchased Mobil 1 - 0W40for just over $5 a qrt at Napa in Bellingham

LOL

I have seen worse actually. An overseas student that had a Celica had his car towed to the shop. The engine threw a rod through the oil pan. When we took off the oil pan the oil had solidified like a cake on the rest of the pan. It was thick not even sludge .. it was solid! Wish I'd taken a photo .. never seen it before.

He also complained the door wouldn't shut properly. When we checked out the rest of the car, it was two cars that had been welded into one! It just wasn't a good day for him

anyone go longer? do you just change filters more often?
Always do the filter as well, makes no sense to put clean oil in with a dirty filter.
