Tires for OEM wheels
I am getting ready to buy a set of tires for my stock wheels to use at the track. I was wondering what drag radials are the best for our cars and what tires I should put up front? Also what size or widest setup I can go in the rear? Don't really want to spend too much since I will only be using these once maybe twice a year but I don't want crap tires either. Just fishing for some advice from people that have experienced it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not a drag radial because they ruin handling, but I'm a big fan of the Hankook RS3 for a cheap very high performance tire (scary in the wet). If you want something amazing in the wet and dry check out the Dunlop star specs

you can get the Michelin PSS for about $30 cheaper than the RS3s which is a proven winner

RS3's are about $100 more per tire and do well in wet

They do well in the wet during the first 20-40% of thread then its way, way way downhill. I can't believe the Michelin's are cheaper than the RS3 in our tire size. I've tried all 3 and more on my s2000 in a 255/40/17 all around and the RS3 goes for almost $60 less a corner. I assumed the same for most sizes.

Well I am just going to be drag racing at the track with the tires so handling isn't that big of a deal for me. Just something sticky for the stock wheels.

This place is a joke.
I run the BFG drag radials on stock rear wheels at the track. 275/35/18. I've even driven on them to the track 150 miles, air down to 22 psi for the 1/4 and then back to 38 for the drive home. When I bought them they were also cheaper than the other options.

I daily drove my car with Mickey Thompson drag radials for a good 2 months (60 miles a day) before they started wearing a bit too thin (used a few times at the track). Their still good for at least 2 more track sessions though. AWESOME tire but just wore out too quickly which isn't the companies fault as I'm sure these were not to be used for that purpose. I have brand new pilot super sports now but they just don't compare to how the DR's hooked.
For comparisons sake, on a street launch with the super sports I can get the sun shade to move 1/4 to 1/3 backwards. With the DRs, I can the sunshade to fully open.
