got this message on my command this week, anyone had this issue?
The nav disk is inserted, no scratches, clean.... Maybe just a bad Nav Drive?

I've heard these drives do fail. I have the same thing. I just asked my dealer how much a new drive was. Parts guy looked it up, kinda did a double take, and then told me it was... TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS! Hahaha no.

Yeah they quoted me 410.00 for a new drive plus labor... 2,000 is a joke. I really just don't know if the drive is bad. It did this once before and then started working. I also remember seeing something in the TSB post about this issue.
Yes original copy
No I will try that. Is it fairly easy?

The DVD Navi drives do go bad as did mine at just 32K miles. First it was intermittent then became more frequent, ultimately tied to after driving for 20 or 30 mins. Drive replaced (under warranty thankfully) and issue fixed immediately, no problems since. Replacement procedure is simple, involving removing a few clips from the trunk liner and a couple of add'l screws. Drive slides out from the factory bracket, reconnect 2 plugs, slide the new one in. Much like switching out the DVD drive from your PC. Dealer sells drives for ~$400

Aftermarket and covered this. Coverage terms and conditions vary widely as you know, even for the exact same product from the warranty company depending on which subversion the reseller offers.
