need help deciding on lowering module.
so i'm ready for my next mod which is lowering the car. considered the star lowering but would like to have the option of lowering/raising on the fly. have seen many modules for our cars and am a bit confused. which is the best one to get? I remember one that is a plug n play and that allows you to lower/raise the car with the steering wheel buttons but don't remember which one it was. also seen the price range from 700-1400. wtf so expensive for a module?

I have a Programa V2 and it's great. The LOMO is the module through the steering wheel. That would definitely be the "best" in terms of ease and interface, but it also around $500 more than my module.
Links are another great option if you don't mind "on the fly" adjustability.

Note that in order to get my ride height, I had to use links and a module. If you want to go low you will probably have to do the same as well.

I have the programa V2 on my E and I love it. The comfort/sport 1-2 buttons still work as well as the raise car button. Keep an eye out in the classifieds for used ones. I snagged mine for $400.

Lowering these cars are a PITA, IMHO none of the modals really lower the car enough. I'm planning on converting to coilovers. I have the Renntech V3, it's based how fast you are driving, so 68MPH(my setting) I'm back at stock.. I don't like it. I want it to stay low.. And aligned correctly lol . MHO, avoid the star method, just because of tire wear and it's not low enough if you have 18s.

You should look into this system:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/MERCEDES-E-CLASS-W211-LOWERING-LINKS-FAST-FREE-WORLDWIDE-SHIPPING-/110986192814?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19d74ae7ae&vxp=mtr
I only used the front links and bent the bracket in the rear to lower it. Very simple install, easy adjustment without removing the wheels and its reliable. Plus you'll have an extra $350 to buy a plm heat exchanger!

Pending time availability, I'll be installing the full K-Mac front and rear kit within the next month. I'll make a feedback thread when I do it.

What makes the links better than star? I think I'll be happy with maybe 1/2-3/4" drop. I just got CLS 19's so I think it'll be okay.

At first I did the washer method and bend the bracket in the rear to lower the car. I wanted to drop the front another 1/2" so the tire is flush with the fender. I read some good things on the links, but didn't want to spend $300 on a kit. I found the kit on ebay and gambled it. Worked out well
