Fuch's Titan Transmission Fluid

I've been searching everywhere like a mad man for A 001 989 21 03 10 Fluid which is what came in the w211 E55 from the factory. I haven't been able to find the oem fluid anywhere except ebay and they want money than the dealer.

What I am finding is other brands like Fuch . I emailed the company and they claim to be the supplier of the MB fluid. Fuch said that their bottles are relabeled as oem MB. I just wanted to confirm this before ordering? Most of the threads I've read through are 2-4 years old so I figured there may be some new information since then. From my research I've found that the Fuch 3353 is made for 722.9, not the 722.6.

https://mbworld.org/forums/4746380-post14.html

I don't want to post a thread in two weeks "Where should I get my transmission rebuilt?"

I've been ordering most of my parts from autohausAZ and they currently have it for $13.43 a liter, compared to $21 at my local dealership and $24 for a bottle with the Mercedes logo and part number on ebay.

The problem is they don't make it specifically for the 5spd which seems to be very important. The 3353 everyone sells for our cars is for the 7spd.

Can any OEM only guys provide a link to the exact factory fluid? I'm giving up and about to just go to the stealer****. Three hours wasted on something so simple already.

Stick to the 236.14 spec and you'll be golden.

Thats for the newest 7spd, which does usually work. Many report issues with it though. I don't have 7k to gamble right now on a transmission.

I really appreciate the effort though

You bet.

I did a flush job using the latest transmission oil about 20k miles ago. No issues, but I understand your concern.

96 and 08 911 turbos
mercedes will tell you that the 236.14 fluids are backwards compatible in and miscible with the 236.1 and 236.12 fluids. My shifting, however, was not satisfactory with a mixture of the factory fill and the 236.14 fluid. As such, i used the yumling flush method to put in the Fuchs titan 3353. Shifts are smoother, yet crisp. My car definitely prefers the older fluid. I would have used the 236.1 but couldn't find it anywhere aside from the dealer (and even then, they will push the .14 fluid)

Not sure about Fuchs 3353 being 236.10 (5spd) vs. 236.12 (7spd), so keep us updated.

+1

The old fluid was difficult to find, I'm running Shell 134 and flushed to get as much of the old fluid out.

This place is a joke.
The 722.9 fluid (red color not the newer green) is backward compatible for the 722.6 transmission. The old 722.6 fluid is no longer available from MB, and is superceded to the 722.9 fluid. At our dealership, and in my personal car I use the 722.9 fluid and all is well. No shift complaints. I would stick with the factory fluid from the dealer if I were you.

Sorry, I forgot to post up my findings after emailing every MB parts company I could find on google.

www.mbonlineparts.com carries our oem fluid that came in our 5spd transmission.

I know the new stuff will work, but when it comes to fluids I've always been a firm believer in sticking with oem fluids for everything except brake fluid. Brake fluid I usually upgrade to something like ate or motul. I'm not going to be road racing this car so I'll most likely stick with oem.

Cheers!

I don't mind spending $3 extra a quart. The cars driven almost 90k with the factory fluid and still shifts well, color still looks decent and smells great. I hope to get another 90k out of the new, old, stuff lol

Oh, and my paranoia will not allow me to go beyond 20k miles between fluid changes.
