You star lowered guys are crazy.
So i finally had time to get my car lowered using Star. Previously when reading all the threads on star i got the impression that the lowering ability is limited, thats far from the case. You can lower the car over 2 inches which was way too low for my taste, or at least for ride quality. I ended up lowering it to where there 25.5" from the floor to the highest point of the fender. Now its time to get an alignment. The guy told me he can order camber kit which is really just longer bolts, is that correct? Considering how low it is i guess it still drives pretty good but nowhere near the factory ride. Hopefully the ride will get better after alignment. For those of you that are curious as to how it looks here are a couple of pics. Thanks to al who have provided great advise and information.

He's most likely talking about the MB crash bolts which are not longer, but rather "splined" in a sense. They will give you little bit of positive camber from what you are now, but they will not bring you back into factory specs.
As far as the lowering, Shardul did mine via STAR and I don't think it came out anywhere near that low. If you're the second owner, are you sure the original owner didn't do the washer lowering method? Your stance looks almost like mine with STAR + washer method, except even lower in the front.

Powder coat yours .. these days those powder coaters can do all kinds of finishes
If you like I can PM you more pics of my car with diff lighting so you can get a feel of how your wheels would look with certain finishes. The color of my old wheels really changed with the type of light that hit them it was awesome that finish.

Have since sold the CLS but those were IWC edition AMG wheels came off of a wrecked CLS55 IWC edition. They were a gunmetal with a bronze hue to them. Went perfect with the Indium Metallic Gray of my CLS as it was Gray in some light and in the day grayish with a bronze pearl.

I don't believe that's possible with only STAR lowering, as long as it's done right and everything in the car is 100% stock.
Since the lowering was done, have you tried adjusting the suspension with the ride height button or raise button and then see if it goes back down to this lowered height?

I pressed the raise car button as I was leaving to avoid scrapping in the driveway but I don't think it raised as it still scraped. Will try in a bit again. I did however remeasure the height and now I've got the drivers side about 1/2" lower than the right. Another thing I noticed is that the ride doesn't seem right. I can't tell if it's just because I'm not used to it being lowered or because something is wrong.

I wonder if he went to the wrong place to lower it? Check out picture #7 with the note.

I have personally seen cars tucking tire with 20" wheels with star lowering as well as with adjustment of the airmatic sensors.
My car was lowered by simply adjusting the sensors front and rear and I tucked tire on 19s

Yes you can get pretty low and the alignment could still be in spec, like mine was. The problem was the dynamic suspension, when at speeds over 68-70 the car will lower itself another half and inch. This is when the alignment gets out of whack, and if you're driving on the freeway for hours and hours over 70, that will certainly cause inner tire wear.
