Is V-box a GPS-based device? My DashDAQ has the GPS option and has performance measuring metrics. I wonder how accurate it is. Sounds like V-box would also have some gyroscopes or some other wizardry inside.

60-130 should be a turbo cars dream. I've done a 7.3 on a 10.75 run and i've gone a 6.9 on the street but it was a slight hill and it was nice and cold. Blackbenzz has the picture for the haters (i used his Vbox). hopefully the new build will be in the low 6 second range maybe into the 5's.

Ahmad, It would be pretty cool to see where the AMG's stack up. 60-130 is a nice range for the E55. Because anything after is the 7 speed M156 and M157 guys dream!
What do our cars run stock on a good cold run, 10 flat? 9s?

heres a running list of 60 to 130 cars . scroll down to see the non pcar runs. takes mega power to run low 6's or 5's

most forums req. a vbox or pbox for verification. nothing else is accurate enough
dads c63 only mb listed in the 5's with a 200 shot
5.98 - Dads C63 / H/C + Bolt-On C63 AMG + 200 shot of Nitrous (MHP S5)

unless you plan on building a 800+ rwhp setup its unlikely you will ever see 5's

Oh don't worry I've spent more than enough time on that side of the river against my will

understand im not saying it cant be done. just that 5's are extremely hard to get and require a huge amount of power. i hope one of you meet the # and exceed it!

I borrowed a friend's VBOX for a day when I still had all my mods and the best I did was a 8.2. Did about 4 runs total and all right around 8.2-8.4. My first time run out was 8.4, then a 8.3, 8.3, and 8.2. I figured I should stop after that because of the heat. Did this on a closed part of the freeway in the middle of the afternoon. I got home and realized that I didn't have my SD card in it.
So.....it's an unofficial 8.2 60-130.

Thanks anyways bro, I should look into buying one. If not maybe I can attend the no fly zone next month and someone there could let me use one.
And thanks again loving this thing whats the word on your build? Any better idea of when it will be done?

What mods did you have that you were able to run 8.2?

I have for years been using a V-box to time my 100 - 200km/h (62 - 124mph) and 100 - 160km/h times (62 - 100mph) for tuning purposes and evaluating changes. My SL55 does these intervals in 7.3sec and 3.8sec and will do a 125mph trap. I care little about the ET as it is meaningless outside of actual heads up drag racing and irrelevant against awd cars. Using these intervals one can then compare to road test figures to see how your car compares. Road tests are all in kph it seems. Comparing these times along with my trap speed confirm that with a 1.5sec 60ft my car is a high 10sec 1/4 miler. The 125mph speed and 1930kg weight with driver plugged into the formula, gives 650 rwhp. One doesn't have to put extreme loads through the drive train chasing low 60 foots to get a very good idea as to how your car compares in the real world (on the street) to other cars.

I have gone a best of 9.59 at 148mph with an official start of 60mph.
Don't know how good that is as nothing to compare it to E55 wise.
I did race a Corvette that makes 690hp to the tires and beat him by 4-5 cars two years in a row but who knows....just comparing power.
