Questions on using OEM Spare Wheels as front drag wheels?

I have considered doing this but have a few questions for those that have.
1) How much do they weigh compared to the stock 18" AMG wheels
2) What size tires are you guys running on them?
3) What's the width of them?
4) Can/Should I use a drag skinny?

This place is a joke.
I wouldn't want to be doing 120mph on a spare rim. FWIW the spare rims are made to be collapsed...meaning, on a rear impact of the vehicle the spare tire in the trunk does not become a projectile, it's "soft" for that purpose.

+1 they are not "real" rims.

I use them brotha and run 215-45-18 radial tires if I am on 255-50-16 drags outback. If you run slicks outback, go with the real bias ply front runners. Gone 150mph with them upfront and drags outback, was silky smooth. Rbj, hammer down both use them too. They weighed in at 31lbs for me with tire and rim.

I see m&H makes a 185/50R18 drag radial, 26" diameter. Should be perfect on the spare wheels right? Gotta be a much lighter setup than my stock rims and tires, plus less rolling resistance.

That's a ton of work, drop the exhaust, pull the seats.. Just throw on the front spares and nail that 60' and you'll see 10's

hmmm, that would be much easier. -1500 DA's would help too considering my last run was at +55. We'll see how motivated I am the day before.

Maybe I missed it but which tire are you running out back? MT or Hoosiers?

on the Hoosiers, i ran MT's but if I ever go out again I want to run Hoosiers, the AMG spare wheels up front (if I can ever find I second wheel) and a Braille battery. Lightweight rotors would also be nice oh and a lightweight driver

Braille is much lighter!! I got one used from Shardul works great, but wouldn't daily drive with it doesn't seem to have enough juice to run my 1000 watt JL amp!! My 03 didn't even come with one spare, so I had to buy two off ebay

Awesome! Are the M&H's front runners or drag radials?

Drag radials, as, I believe, you cannot mix bias ply, with the radials on the rear. Also it's about the only 18" skinny tire on the market that is 26" tall as well.

I don't know if I can call you Big E anymore I should dust the car off and have you come drive it. Between you driving my car, add AMG spare wheels up front and a Braille battery I can knock off 150+ lbs off of my last run and there a few extra rotational mass pounds if I switch to Hoosiers. All you have to do is nail one of your famous 1.49 60' which is .14 better than my 60' and you could be knocking on the door of high 10.4's so when are you coming out to Cali?
