finally got the blue bearing installed ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
no more washing machine sound when the car is running - much more respectable E55 now![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

here's the old black one that came with the S/C pulley originally - wasn't broken down, just internally noisy

and a teaser... (few more months)

it looks to be a knockoff of Nachi (AMPEC/CHINA)
Attachment 447548
the design is similar to the OEM one - there are 3 different covers for the bearings, black/blue/red - plus different packaging solutions as well (some branded boxes, many whitebox shipments)
The AMPEC solution shows Supply Ability: 150,000 Piece/Pieces per Month![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
to my knowledge the blue one is the older design, red was newer, black is the newest design - all the same size, slightly different, - but all specs are double bearing designs - the primary difference is in the seals

You can see the demand for this bearing here - must be a pretty common part
http://www.alibaba.com/showroom/45bg...r-bearing.html
now if we can find a slim torque wrench, replacement would be SUPER easy![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
in super high volume they can manufacture these for 50/cents each
Supply Ability: 1,000,000 Piece/Pieces per Month![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
I had this installed ~80k miles, so I can be the litmus test for how long this bearing lasts...
the black bearing lasted me from ~64k till now
oh - and Dave replaced my S/C oil too during the swap, don't have pics of the fluid but he said it was a good thing to do, not horrible - but definitely dark and stinky

maybe a 24mm extension for a torque wrench like this would remove the need to raise the motor?
