E55 AMG on Ethanol-Meth; 600rwhp BMW M5
Test and Tune on the SAUCE, graphic video content!

I went to Silver Dollar yesterday to test out my setup before heading up to MIR this week. The first couple motor runs were clean runs, and as usual my 60's suffered due to no track prep, and spinning out the hole:

Nitrous Dyno numbers were 597rwhp/800rwtq on the Dynamics Dyno. As a reference I dynode 360rwhp/415rwtq bone stock. The green numbers were motor runs:

First Nitrous pass

I was a little concerned with the amount of TQ the gas made, and after 5 dyno runs and on my first track pass, the stock trans let go. You can hear in the vid right after it shifted into second, the motor becomes disconnected from the trans, and that was all she wrote. The trans was stuck in second with cels reading "trans slipping."

I will look into mating a V12 Twin Turbo trans to my E55 motor. In the meantime, I have a spare e55 trans that I hope to install this week, so I can still make MIR.

Do not waste your money on the v12 trans. They just have larger gear sets in them really no more clutches. Just build a standard transmission. Tighten up the clearances and add a few clutches to the packs. It is pretty easy to add a one or two cluthes to most clutch packs. Getting the clearances tight is the most important. When you start making a lot of power you can blow through a shift pretty fast causing limp mode. Also you may have hit a torque limiter if it went into neutral.

Yes it went in limp mode when that happened. I will know more tomorrow when I take a look at it.

Wow your car is moving even without the spray. Can only imagine what it will do on spray and traction. What was your 60' on spray?

I thought I saw some activity at the shop during a drive by.

I was going to bring mine in on Friday...but my o2's seem fine after a clear. Weird.

Yes, there was activity and I just saw you a little bit ago in the beast

The trans is done as it is slipping under normal driving conditions now.

Thx brotha, appreciate it. I am just going to rebuild the stock tranny with A LOT more clutches than stock with tighter clearances. No sense in turning back now.

I think you can upgrade the clutches to the ones from the V12 trans which are beefier if i recall. Good luck man!

That vid was with the new I Phone, so I am not sure why it turned out like it had a potatoe lens

ArmoE55, I always run with my cutouts open, so that is open headers on my setup.

The tear down of a 20K mile good tranny begins, we had a spare at the shop from a donor e55 that was salvaged. We will be building it with much tighter clearances, and stuffing in as many clutch packs as possible.

Building it this way will have harder firmer shifts with less ability to slip under heavy torque loads. After testing it with a few bottles, we will offer the next one for sale:
