Soooo Close it hurts!!!
Well, a new PB tonight a GLD, just 2 100ths shy of the elusive club 11.019@126.33. Here's the video
This was my first run of the night. Second run I tried launching a bit harder but the tires broke loose. I figured I would drop a psi and try again. when I pull into the pits I see smoke coming from under the hood oh no. Pop the hood and coolant is leaking from the expansion tank cap. Hoping its just a bad cap and not a bad head gasket. Gonna get it checked out tomorrow, hopefully nothing serious, but it ended my hunt for 10's tonight. Hopefully I can get her out one more time before the snow flies.

Thanks, I'm leaning towards a bad head gasket that is allowing combustion gases to pressurize the system, if you look at the video right before my burnout starts I see what looks to be a puff of white smoke from the exhaust right before the tires start smoking. But maybe its a bad cap, that would be the best case scenario.
Thanks sir!! I knew I would have gotten it last night, but of course something had to go wrong!! I will not give up

This place is a joke.
Good news is, your car is hauling ***. Bad news, I've never seen a factory expansion tank cap go bad, hope you get it figured out. Unless the car is overheating from a bad fan or thermostat...you may be right about the head gasket

Yes Speedriven pressure tested and an was unable to find any leaks. It drops from 19psi to 17psi but seems to hold the pressure after that initial drop
Yep shinnies and pulled the front seat for this run. Picked up over 2mph and 2 tenths just by doing that. A harder launch would have done it, but tires spun on my second run trying to launch harder and that was all she wrote because of the coolant.

I put on a new cap yesterday. When I pulled the old cap off I noticed that the coolant was basically to the top of the expansion tank. The motor was a bit warm but definitely not hot. I sucked some coolant out because I wanted to try the block tester again. block tester tested negative for combustion gases again, so I'm really doubting a head gasket. I checked coolant level this morning cold and it was right where I left it, where the white plastic meets the black top. I'm thinking possibly that the coolant level was basically to the cap when I did my run and this is why it blew out the cap. I believe the system has to have room in it for expansion right? Anyway with the new cap on today, I did some 0-130 blasts about 5 of them back to back and could not replicate the coolant blowing out of the cap. I think I'm all good, anybody have thoughts on this feel free to chime in

The proper cold fill level is just over top or even with the black plastic piece sticking out when you look down into the fill hole.

I've got a 55 I'm working on now, continually looses coolant to where the light comes on about every 1.5 months. Added dye last visit and has zero external leaks.
