Hidden Center Compartment!

Ok What is the name of this thing? And where can i find it?! Its the compartment directly below the command unit, and mine seems broken or off its track, cause it wont open.

I didnt know I even had this, until i was dinking around with the command and watching youtube videos.

If you have it push the silver button below the hazard button, took me about a month to find mine by accident of course

Do you have the 6 disk changer? I thought mine didn't at first, but I was dinking around the first day and I found it. Mine works flawlessly!

So are you trying to see if you have a CD changer? Honestly I don't use mine at all and plug my phone into the aux port in the glove compartment (05' - 06'). I am contemplating update to a newer stereo.

Is it possible to take out the cd changer and use it as hidden storage? That would be amazingggg

The mechanism is directly attached to the glove box. What color interior I have tons of these laying around and I wouldn't mind helping a brotha out.

Yes. MB sells a storage cubby that replaces the changer ($20). The fiber optic chain is broken when you take the CD changer out of the loop. You will need a fiber optic connector, which MB also sells ($7), to pass the optical signal along the MOST ring.

There's a thread on the forums that explains everything.

umm its the lighter wood grain one, but if you have some, I dont even really mind what color it is.

according to my research its pretty easy to remove and change. just a matter of actually finding one
