Fuel consuption for W211 E63, 2400+ miles trip @ 22.8 MPG
I thought I would share my fuel consumption with you E63 guys.
Took a trip from Seattle to Austin TX over the weekend.
Average HWY speed was 80 MPH, got 350 miles on a full tank before the reserved fuel light come on.
I wasn't expecting to get anything over 20 MPG with an EC tune, 2 adult, 100lbs of luggage and highest elevation was 7400 ft.
I have never seen anything over 16MPG during the time I had the E63. Maybe because I never gotten it pass 60mph in Seattle.![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)

You need to compare the amount of mileage driven to the amount of gallons you filled up with. In my experience, the computer consistently overestimates.

Yeah the computers are not usually accurate cause it's taking an average usually of a broader scale. However it's Probly accurate enough in this case since it was pulling from 2400 miles of consistent input. None the less, to hell with the gauge. Better to crunch the numbers yourself per tank.

I got 24.2 FL to NYC 75-85mph
After tune headers piping and filters
22.3-22.8 75-80mph
24-25 anything between 60-70 mph
Soon as you go over the 75mph the MPG drop like a rock...
but for the power we make and the weight of our cars this is really good.

from IL to TX 960 miles. Average speed was 71 if I remember correctly. Did 23.2 mpg.
I LOVED that mpg..
lol its the city that gets you. The other day it kept hovering around 9-10 mpg.

LOL! Fuel 'economy' in an E63. Hahahahahahaha!! I just came back from piling on just under 2,000 miles on my E63 in 1 week driving to Canada and back, and my mileage was in the low 20s driving between 95 - 100 mph almost the entire time. I actually joked to my wife, 'I think we are driving a hybrid, this fuel economy is so good,' yet she was certain I was off my rocker. In this car I don't care what it gets....I just love that sound, and that shove in the back when I floor it.
