Almost a kill....

Tried diligently to get a newer NSX with aftermarket exhaust to give it a go. No traffic, open hwy and this guy wouldn't do it. I guess he knew what would have happened!

It's amazing. Nobody with any automotive intelligence will try and mess with the E55. All I get is a few 540i's that quickly get spanked!

The real problem is, what could I ever drive after owning this car?

Funny, I had a 740 and a 540 try to outrun me on the SAME DAY but of course, we know what happened to those two.

Ironically, I don't get any M5's mess with me, even though I make my presence known.

I own a c32 and have a friend with an NSX. The driver needs to be on top of his shift points just to keep up with me.....For you
Now a new Cobra SVT will give you a run!
Any of you 55 guys have a street run-in with a Cobra yet?

Wow! Good words Harris.
As I speak, the E55 is my cup of tea but years from now the 80 is all me.

I take nothing away from the present 55'ers you are my future visionaries. Hopefully I as well as you will be in the same bracket next time 80 style!

I cannot get anyone to bite at all. I even followed a fast-moving M5 on an access rd. Caught a light and guess what the guy does - jerks over to the left lane when almost at a stop and turns on his left signal. Weak.

Hey eclou, Houstonians are just car nuts, and everyone knows what we drive! I got a thumbs up from a Porsche TT driver. I was in line at a stop light and he has a clear lane on my side but slows down and does a one over on my car and give me the thumbs up. Usually P Drivers are very arrogant, even to other P Drivers, so it was welcomed.

I think the problem is two fold....Those who know what an E55 is know better than to try, and those who don't...they just think it is a cool-looking and slow luxo cruiser. Either way this car isn't seeing any action...kinda sucks.

How about these being completely destroyed on the highway:-
2 Porsche C4S
1 Porsche C2
1 Audi RS4
1 M5

They were all racing against each other, I don’t know probably they are bunch of friends. But then the BEAST came out of nowhere and taught them a severe lesson. They didn’t surrender, which I really liked, but at the end they had no choice but to exit the highway.

C32 AMG
I was just lamenting this on the C32 board. My C32 gets a lot more action than my "new" 01 996TT. Not a single "serious" car has tried to race me in the 911.

As far a P-car drives being arrogant, I'm not sure it's any worse than most other cars. BMW drivers are the ones I notice who get smoked and won't even look over. I think it's only natural to be slightly aloof with slower models within the same model/manufacturer--like a C32 vs a 320, M3 vs 330, 911TT vs 911, etc.

Some P owners are dicks...simply put! Some of them are physicians (who MOST are dicks!) or older dudes, but some are just regular guys like me who truly love cars. I don't get the arrogance part at all....I think some people buy the cars only because they can and only care about the status attached to driving a $130k 911 Turbo. I got my TT because I wanted a "supercar" that I could drive everyday and still lug the (at that time) 2 kids with me.

Before the physicians who frequent this board get all offended by my comment...just chill out. This isn't directed at you. You are the exceptions!!!I know several doctors having had 3 kids in the last 5 years and most of them are so rude and arrogant that I don't know how they can stand themsleves. Why are they like that??? My cousin is a doctor and he doesn't get pissed if you call him Mr. instead of Dr. He also loves his 911 cabrio and will talk to anyone about it.

Yes,

there are alot of arrogant, bitter doctors in this country. I imagine that if everytime your paycheck arrived you noticed that you were getting 10% of what you expected, you would be bitter too!

In general, affluent people tend to be less friendly. :p

If they can still manage to drive $100k cars...they can't be hurting that bad. Bitter is one thing....pompous is another. Its the attitude that comes across that I can live without. I really like when someone who earns a fraction of what I do treats me like trailer-trash. I don't flaunt my success. You never know what the future has in store and things can always change!

I have worked for 10 years building a business from scratch that has allowed my family a terrific lifestyle. I am greatful everyday and feel like the luckiest man alive. I treat everyone with respect! Anyone driving the cars we all make mention of on this forum is the member of an elite group of people that is lucky to be able to afford these toys. The vast majority of the world population struggles to make ends meet and even worse. Don't mean to get so philosophical, but I just can't stand the arrogance...

I wonder what these most recent replies have to do with the original thread, let alone the board.
Maybe start a new forum - Let's bash anyone is is not us.

Most of the forums on here seem to lose focus...I have been a bit frustrated by it and here I am perpetuating it. I am a hypocrite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been sitting on the sidelines because all of my posts were wiped out with the downtime. The doc bashing has put me over the edge
Jkrutch Its obvious by the cars you drive you are a successful man but you and some of the others on this board have been hanging around the wrong physicians. If your doc is an arrogant SOB than fire him and get another. BTW most practicing physicians these days make < 300K/yr. All the rich ones have retired already. Being a near native of west coast FL I find that "a" word is an appropriate description of a lot of people (not you) on the East coast of FL including docs. Most people on the west coast are pretty laid back. If you get sick in my neck of the woods I can hook you up with someone who won't **** you off

Oddly enough, my cousin is a dermatologist on the west coast of FL...He definitelty is not a stereotypical physician that I made reference to in my post. The last thing I would want to do is classify all physicians in the same group.

I wish I was referring to only one, but unfortunately, it has been my experience with several over the last few years. I have met a few that were awesome people and friendly and patient. The majority I have dealt with were abrubt, seemed annoyed with my questions (I am inquisitive by nature) and acted as if I just crawled out from under a rock. It could very well be the SE coast mentality. I don't know as I have lived here since day one. Anyway, let's get back to the car thing...its a lot more fun!
