Weird SDS issue when changing country

I decided to change my country from US to get rid if the annoying keyless go chime but I also didn't want to lose the side marker lights, so instead of changing to ROW I set it to Canada. The keyless go chime was gone and my marker lights still worked but I got an immediate ESP malfunction as soon as I put the car in a forward gear upon every start-up. Obviously having ESP is more important than getting rid of that annoying chime so I switched back to US. If that wasn't weird enough, ESP went back to normal but the chime is still gone!

Obviously I'm happy with the results but I'd still like to know why this happened. Anyone have any input to share?

Most likely you didn't hit f5 to make the change the first time but you did the second time around when you switched back to US.

I Definitely hit F3 to save the changes and it showed Canada when I went back in to set it back to US. The fact that the keyless go chime was removed tells me it also save the Canada setting but I still can't figure out why the chime didn't come back when I set it back to US.

The door lock chime is still there...it's the annoying keyless go reminder chime that didn't come back when I reset the country to US.

You need to hit F5 to reset the IC watch how the needles move and cluster lights up and starts beeping and stuff.

Check if Keyless Go is present in CGW. If it is set to not present, the chime will not be there. The keyless go still functions though

I'll go back in and check...but if setting the country to Canada turned keyless go to not present then why wouldn't resetting the country to US return keyless go to present?

Keep in mind, the ONLY settings I originally changed was the country.

I'm confused..did what??? I did the same procedure when setting it to Canada and resetting it to US (with exception of the selected country).
