are carbon diffusers flexible at all?
After months of my diffuser sitting in the garage its time to install it. For the first time I held it up to the car and noticed that the two outer end are about a half inch away from the surface. My question is, can I bend it back to the surface without breaking it? also, do I need to remove the factory diffuser before installing the new one? for the record its an E63. Thanks

Vcci, you will find out very fast that your rear bumper is the one doing all the flexing when installing the diffuser. Shoot me a PM, I have a local LA shop that will install it for a reasonable price.

Remove the black piece of plastic from the bumper. (It will be destryoed when you remove it) and then prepare yourself for a bit of struggle to get it to fit. I actually removed my bumper to make it a bit easier to fit well.

If doing by yourself, your knee will be helpful in holding in place the diffuser as you attach it to the bumper. But two people, one hold the diffuser while other puts in the screws is alot easier.

i have no problem installing it, i installed my front lip with ease. What i'm concerned about is that when i held the diffuser up to the bumper there was about 1/2''-1'' gap between the diffuser and the bumper. i'm afraid if i force the diffuser in to place it will crack/break at the ends hence the question about it being flexible. thoughts?

You will need to push it flush with the bumper and drill in the screws/bolts to keep it in place. Some guys are heating the corners up with a dryer/heat gun to allow some flexibility.
