In love with Exhaust notes

So replaced my mid resonator with a xpipe and did muffler delete... Pretty quiet at idle and not too loud on revving

Yeah what I did was deleted the muffler with a straight pipe and a Y on each side to keep both muffler tips. Was super easy to do. No drone when I'm on the hwy it's very quiet can't even hear it really untill you accelerate.

You still have all four cats , right? You remove any of those and drone may show up. Sounds good with no mufflers.

Yeah still have all 4 cats, the rear 2 have been replaced with high flow. Then removed the stock resonator replaced with x-pipe the just did what I explained with the Y pipes to delete mufflers and keep stock tips

Sounds good

I am currently contemplating gutting my mufflers. I cant totally remove them as you have done due to UK laws, but I wonder if I could effectively create the same thing by cutting all the internal pipes away and get a form of 'Y' pipe welded in to connect to the 2 tips to the supply pipe, but all concealed within the existing muffler box

there is no law in the uk about having to have back boxes... i have run more than one car with no back box or muffler and had no problems with mot or the police... you have to have a cat if the car is younger than 1993... you can legally remove the muffler, resonator, and secondary cats in the UK with no hassle what so ever.

Drone will not be noticeable (negligible) if you remove the secondaries - I can't speak, personally, about the deleted primaries, I would think drone would show up then.

My exhaust is Xpipe in place of deleted secondaries, deleted resonator with two stainless steel pipes, straight piped into C63 mufflers. I shaved quite a bit of weight in the process.

Zero drone and car is subtle & quiet cruising around, most wouldn't realize it wasn't stock. Acceleration is deeper and louder... WOT it gets VERY loud. I wanted as close to stock while cruising and normal accerlation. My cold start ups are extremely loud and brutal.

OP - car sounds perfect, I wouldn't touch anything else in your setup. My .02.

New MOT regs in UK state that in theory the exhaust system is a fail if its non standard, hence why I want it to look stock. I know what you mean as I currently have no secondary cats and MOT tester said all ok as long as passed emissions, which it does no problems, but I think this about to get much tougher.

Apologies I was wrong on that, its only if cats are missing for UK MOT test

It does say though that the silencer should be of a type that does not emit a sound unreasonably above that of a standard one on similar vehicle. I doubt they would ever be able to determine that though.

The cat can be classed as a silencer.... As for not being louder than standard, I had a mot tester pull me up on my rx7 I told him to find a stock on and compare, he said fair point lol.... Dealers are now selling milltek exhausts as an option now, so if they are selling louder exhausts as options it's going to be massively hard to police!

I have this same set up and the drone is negligible and the sound is good.

One question though, when I add headers what will I need to do to keep the drone down and the good sound there??

Nice sound, I was wondering if anyone had the ***** to do that. In South Africa we only need to roadworthy our cars once to get the vehicle license, after that no-one cares about cats and resonators - we just throw them away. Imagine what your car would sound like with all that crap removed?
I run longtube headers, X-pipe, zero cats, no resonators and a 3.5 inch pipe all the way into gutted stock mufflers. Very similiar sound to yours although I do get a hint of drone at low rpm, but since I never cruise at low rpm I never hear it. Dump those cats.
