Damn.. If true that'd be a game changer

Overview:*With a sleek, fastback body, aggressive styling modifications, and gorgeous 20-inch wheels, the A7-based RS7 could get by on looks alone. But as an RS model, that is completely unnecessary, packing as it does a spectacular turbocharged 560-hp V-8, a performance-tuned eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, a lowered suspension, and a 174-mph top speed. Its six-figure price tag is none too cheap, but the RS7 is as close as it gets to an R8 supercar with four—make that five—doors.*FIRST DRIVE REVIEW — 2014 AUDI RS7*»
Find this hard to believe guys, from Car&Driver it weighs 4500lbs & runs 11.60 1/4 mile stock highly doubt Tune only RS7 on stock wheels & tires that are 20"s no less rips off 10.67

Sean, I just realized that I forgot to respond to you a couple of months ago. My deepest apologies. I hope you are doing well my friend.

I really love the new RS7. I think it's probably a cut above the E63 and CLS63 in some departments (interior and ergonomics). I doubt it would be faster than a tuned 4-matic AMG………also, I still think the CLS63 is aesthetically superior.

That car is awesome, I remember in the 80's running high 14's was amazing for a stock car with a tune. These new cars are way too fast for the street unless you don't care.

Audi as a company (VAG) is trash. i dont care if it runs 9s. ill never own another one... i will admit i have a soft spot for the RS4.. But ill still never own one.

i was just at audi last week looking at a A6.. those idiots wanted 1200/mo on a 36mo lease. i laughed my way out of the showroom.

The Benz is the Daddy of those cars IMO. Can't wait to get an E63 TT! Probably the end of the this summer I will start looking! The Audi is impressive though, I must say!

+1 I didn't want to be the first to call "hmmmm" on this. That would have to be at least a 100+ hp gain to drop a second at those speeds and weight.

Since when have magazine claims ever been accurate? With the right conditions every one of their claimed 1/4mile stats has been smashed, including the numbers for our cars. C&D claimed our cars did the standing quarter in 12.4 which may be accurate for the average joe but we've proven that number to be off by more than 1/2 second in a few cases. So tune only (on a turbo car) could easily drop that much time compared to magazine stats imho.

chiro: Who whet 11.90 bone stock on street tires?

Also, so you are saying the RS7 can run 11.10 bone stock?

Pretty sure we had a couple of guys that went sub 12's bone stock back in the day but it's been too many years for me to remember. Maybe Hammerdown might have been one.

Maybe the RS7 won't do 11's bone stock but low 11's for sure with all the right conditions. And a tune on a turbo car can easily be worth near 100hp...

Actually that's what APR is claiming

http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_up...si_rs6rs7.html

I'd love to find an enthusiast actually confirming this instead of getting it horses mouth but even if it was within a few tenths of the 10.69 figure it would be very impressive. Can you imagine what simple intake and exhaust mods plus 100 octane tune would do on this platform?

Here ya go

The APR Stage I ECU Upgrade gives you higher peak numbers of 674 HP/700 FT-LBS on 93 (R+M)/2 octane and up to 728 HP/744 FT-LBS on 100 (R+M)/2 octane race fuel. As much as +162 HP and +223 FT-LBS of torque are available through the power band! APR's ECU Upgrade is the best power per dollar modification for the new 4.0 TFSI V8 and gives it just the extra edge these cars lack from the factory without pushing the limits. With factory-like smoothness and drivability, APR's ECU upgrade will fill the void in an otherwise excellent car.

Member Enzom went 11.7 a few times, bone stock, I was there to witness it. Many say his car was a freak of nature.

That is damn impressive. That Quattro does amazing stuff for the drag strip. Trap speed is also up there.
Just looked at one last week at my local dealer in dark matte grey and it is a looker. Interior is overall sportier and electronics are superior. Very nice carbon fiber outside.
My main issue is that at 125K, it was 7K more than my CLS similarly appointed.
Audi has so few RS that they want sticker for the car whereas MB sells the AMG at a good discount if you shop hard enough..

Ain't that the truth. I believe our resident CLS55/TT car pulled a similar time in his TT set up. I know it's an apples to oranges comparo but it at least gives me some hope that I can keep up

How could I have forgotten Enzom! So that's two sub 12 bone stock E55's accounted for.

Either way, 10.7 seems easily possible on a tune only turbo car with awd.

Impressive as hell EITHER way & if indeed on stk 20" wheels/tires just wow!
