Sl65 and CL get those kinds of gains from tune only. Adding 150 WHP and as much or more TQ will certainly drop a second off and gain that much MPH. Twin turbo v8/v12s are s easy to get so much more power it is just crazy.

The difference is AWD quattro. It gets traction off the line and puts all its power down.
A new GTR stock does high 10s.
It appears that MB's AWD system is not as good as Quattro or the nannies in the RS7 are easier to defeat.

here is a cls 63 with drags, ECU tune, stock turbos that runs 10.4 @130mph the exhaust note sounds awesome !

Not trying to stir, just to confirm, on Rentech's site, the claimed: RENNtech 100% locking limited slip differential and an in development performance exhaust modification.

And they went 10.98 @ 129 with those mods.

Im just stating the 10.4 pass is NOT a "TUNE ONLY"...at least from what I can tell.

Of course, in the days of street racing, everything was "stock except for a cam" anyway...

Oct 14,2012: AND, IF this is the same car: tune, hi flow exhaust, larger heat exchanger, hi flow intercooler pump, limited slip differential, front skinnies and drag radials. 10.91 @ 130



No matter what, that Audi is pretty freaking impressive regardless of the mods. I only wanted to see some documentation if it was truely a "tune ONLY". :-)

The video of the '10.4' pass was quoted by the owner of the GTR, not the CLS63.. so really none of that can be confirmed. The fastest one on DT is 10.6 on Renntech turbos. I've never researched because I can't afford one but I'm sure there are faster ones. You'd be amazed how many don't give a **** about posting online.

their "high flow" intercooler pump is just for marketing to rape someone for 4-500 dollars but can be had for a 100 bucks, bigger heat exchanger probably yes ($400) since the cooling is not split on the 2012 models. (they did split the cooling and upgraded the heat exchanger on the 13 models) hi flow exhaust again IMO worthless but maybe a good pair of down pipes on the car and the LSD can be had from mercedes. so I see the car as having a tune and downpipes and drags on it. the audi is moving the hell out tho, just a better AWD system

Well they go from 120 MPH traps to 129-130 traps from tune only. High tens but still that is really moving and puts the power in te same range as the Audi in question. Same trap and these cars will be neck and neck from a roll. AWD changes things of course. The new E63 will be running times just like that just give them time.

Audi has Dual clutch.... and who cares really..... they are like $110K after tax ! can't afford one so why even care. I will just stay away and not race any of new M5, RS7, 63TT serie CTS-V...

A mildly modded E55 will do just fine against these cars stock. Well not against the AWD ones from a dig.

Just an FYI.. The rs7 does not have a DSG transmission, it can't handle the extra juice the rs7 puts out, and due to this there is no factory launch control.. The car has an 8sp conventional torque converter trans. The S6/S7 have DSG's and launch control. It's kinda funny to see some of the hate toward other manufacturers.. They all have faults and they all have their great points, I have German cars and Japanese cars they all have quirks some more than others you just need to embrace them for what they are. Anyway commence the conversation.

Anyone else notice it is only a stage 1 ? Wonder what a stage 2 would do .... also states it is on 93 octane for that run. 100 octane give 50 more HP and 50 tq . Damn

For those questioning Audi power. They are no joke. We tuned an S6 which I took a test ride in afterward. Lit up all 4 tires and legitimately made the blood rush to the back of my brain. Never felt a sensation like that and we have tuned S4s galore at the shop. Makes my 63 feel extremely slow by comparison. Depressing.

Audi look has been growing on me and running 10s with a couple tweaks, DAMN. We will see how reliable these things are and how long they last; always scary to the be the 'first batch' of tuned cars on a new platform. Let's see how they hold up 10K, 20K, 30K
miles etc. while modded. Sick times,though!

Found this thread doing a search for the RS7. I was at Atco today and saw a tune-only (race gas) run a 10.7 @ 131 mph. Made me feel slow for only running a 10.8 @ 128 in my 991 Turbo. Wow.
