Wheelspin at 80 mph. Is that sick?

Coming home from a FL Panthers game Friday night, my friend asked me what the car could do, so at 80 mph I nailed the throttle only for the car to momentarily lose traction, wiggle the rear and for the little yellow triangle light up to tell me that the beast under the hood was starting to get a little out of hand. I repeated this two more times with the same result. Maybe the fact that it had rained lightly a couple of hours earlier could have contributed to this but the road surface appeared completely dry.

Regardless, 145 mph came rather quickly and there were smiles on our faces for the rest of the trip home. This car is too much fun!:p

The cooler weather is a big factor for us too. A couple of weks ago when we had the first temperature drop I had the vette get a little loose during the shift to fourth gear getting on the Sawgrass. These boosted cars really like the lower temps.

Sounds like you are running Nitto NT555's. They handle like they are on ice. Traction was a real issue for me too.

I live <10 minutes from the Office Depot Center (Panther's venue)....The humidity out west is very high...that combined with the earlier rain most likely made for very slick conditions. I would think spinning tires @ 80 MPH would otherwise be nearly impossible. These cars don't have THAT much power!!! I haven't hit much over triple digits yet, but I am truly amazed at how hard these cars pull. Every time I drive it, I love it more and more.
