Does anyone know who the company was in Japan that would not ship to the US? I ask since I will be in Japan this may and wanted to try and set something up.

They don't usually keep this in stock at the shop. They also don't ship internationally so you'll want to be able to pick them up when you get there. You should contact them ahead of time and try to order it so that it will be waiting for you at the shop when you arrive. I got mine by going to the shop and paying for them in person. Then had them ship them to my buddy in Fukuoka who then shipped them to me in the US.

I had a shop put some LED DRL on my car. Removed stock fogs. Looks good. But, it worked for a few weeks but now one side comes on and it gets an error code left front fog light not working. But sometimes they both light up.
Not sure if its an issue with the actual LEDs on that side? I thought they work or don't work not intermittently on or off.
It's bugging me, Ive got some resistors on but now sure what ohm. Need to ask tomorrow. Does anyone know what size resistors we need to keep the error light off?
Going back tomorrow but wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations?

Why not just tap into the cigarette lighter fuse for power and tapped into the side marker light for brown wire. No need for resistors and no need to tap into fog lights so I never get an error. The only downside is that the LED's turn on every time I turn ignition on (which is no big deal, at least for me).
Since your fogs are disconnected. If you pull the fog light switch do you get both errors for fogs?
I can live with LEDs being on with ignition power. Your car looks really good btw.

Where exactly would I tap into cigarette lighter fuse? Is it under the hood and what side marker? Could you provide more details on how to do this? It would be much appreciated.

I also changed the amps from 15 to 20 just in case I needed more power.
I believe two sets of wires were used with the detach points on the driver side of the front bumper so if i were to ever dismount the bumper, I could detach them with ease instead of needing to rewire every time.
There is also a third wire for these LED's which I believe are for auto dimming when headlights are on but that wire isn't attached to anything because I prefer to have them on max brightness day and night. It looks especially awesome at night with headlights on.
As far as errors go on my 550, I won't receive any unless I actually pull the headlight knob out to activate fog lights. Luckily it's not the same as some of the BMW's that will do a full system check every single start.
Hopefully this will be useful information for anyone doing this.
Fuse box diagram. I believe it's fuse 54a or b.
Drawing power using the white wire. It's wrapped in electrical tape so I drew a red line to show its location.
Closer image. Note that the mini blade fuse was changed from 15 to 20.
Much better when not dimmed at night compared to OEM plus you get a unique look for a w211.

Excellent! So there is probably some brown ground wires attached the body near the inner fender liner. Ive never really taken a look down there.
I will check back in after the rewiring.
Right now, I have them connected the original fog light connectors and the given an error code after awhile.
Thank you Very much!

I realize I'm super late to this party but I like the fact this is one long ongoing thread, albeit inactive for the past 6 months or so. That said, I would love to get a pair of these and I have quite a few others that are interested as well. My research has led me here and it appears I'm in the right spot. Many thanks to all those who came before me on this thread. I have read every post and it appears exhaustive research has been done on this topic. That said, I'm really serious about getting my hands on some of these and the wait time/price point is a non issue. Would anyone be willing to steer me in the right direction? It would be greatly appreciated.

In that case your only other option would be to buy the from the Japanese company and hire some sort of agent in Japan to receive them and them ship here. Too bad you didn't ask a few months ago when I was there at their shop.

Yeah that is too bad. I just bought them right now from Buyee.jp for ¥35,000 + ¥3,500 service fee + ¥200 payment fee for a total of ¥38,700 which breaks down to $331.58. It was unclear if shipping was included so I'm hoping I don't get bent over on International Shipping but all said and done this was a pretty quick and painless process. Here's where I bought from http://buyee.jp/item/yahoo/auction/r126604604

I found these on ebay it states that Is made for the amg model but when I spoke to the seller the seller told me that it's only for the European amg model and that it won't fit the US amg models... I found this info as not being correct.. but she doesn't want to sell as she feels it won't fit my us model e63 . what u guys think?
