Trade in value
Trade in value
Just in case anyone wanted to gauge our car's trade in values. I just got $22500 today for a 2008 E63 84k miles, fully loaded except performance package, 3 owner, 1 accident car. TC
I had the convertible but always liked the look of the coupes a bit more. It was a very nice cruiser but it felt heavy when driven hard, but then again I traded in a M3 for the 650i. Had no complaints or problems with the car at all. TC

Carmax offered me $13K for my MINT 2-owner '05 w/ 118K miles on it. It has fully documented meticulous dealer service history from day 1 and thousands in premium extras, but it accounted for absolutely nothing. Insulted, I told 'em to get lost.
I would imagine I'd get the same offer from most any dealer, which is a shame.
In reality, the car is worth about $19K especially when you consider what others are selling for. Thankfully, I no longer have plans to sell her

the cars with good history/pedigree are best sold privately. Someone who is looking for the right car will pay what its worth.
I keep a book of every receipt, dyno, etc... have the original sticker and the original sales paperwork where the first owner traded in a 2001 E55 on it

A good history means nothing at trade in. As stated, better off selling private party with a good history.

This place is a joke.
Paid $12k for my '04 w/98k. Clean, stock, some paint work and a leaking gas tank. Wholesale price, this was in 2012. Car would have retailed for $15-16

I paid a little less than 13 for my 04 with similar mileage. It was from a friend who was going to trade it in and I bought it from him at his trade in value. Clean car, dealer maintained, decent options with a pulley, he, pump and tune. You can get 03's at auction for $9k.

At the time of the CARMAX "appraisal", I was mostly interested in a quick sale and the possibility of trading + financing an E90 M3. As an unusually difficult car to replace, I still have the E. Not to mention, it's paid-for.

Exactly why I still have my S600. It's not worth selling and its paid off. I've had it since 07 with 36k mi now it has 88k I think. It has literally every option but designo. It even has the rare rear bucket seats etc. the car is in perfect condition. What's a 04 v12 with abc and 90k mi worth? Not much, and impossible to replace in that condition, not to mention what car at its value would be nicer?
