Anyone have there sun visors start to split? I have one coming apart at the seem. Figure I need to glue together... not sure what glue to use?

Any of you had this problem before? I searched, couldn't seem to find anything

This place is a joke.
Remove it,Open it up, use a very small bead of white gorilla glue, close and use multiple strips of masking tape all around to pinch the halves tight together, let sit overnight, done.

I was going to use big binder clips to pinch it. Just wasn't sure what glue to use. Never used gorilla glue before. Is it like epoxy or just strong glue(assuming the name)

I got some Gorilla Glue with a good nozzle and applied some to the land and groove where the two pieces fit together, being EXTREMELY careful to not let any over-run get on the Alcantera.

I noticed a bit too a while back and used super glue with a thin head so you can drop some on the inside and that was that. Look like new ever since

What about when it gets stuck at like a 20* angle from the top, can you fix that? My pass side is doing that.

that was also a common issue... At least from my searching it was. I don't recall the fix(or if there was one) search for Sun Visor in the W211 section and 211amg section, and there are a bunch that cover it

I know on the 220's if you pull the extension out and lube the shaft it will be 90% better. I used a small amount of silicone based penetrating oil. I "believe" it's either the glue slowly seeping in or the plastic that it pivots on is galling from use. Either way, lubing it usually works or makes it better. The e55 I picked up is starting to do it but I haven't tried lubing it yet.

Caution: "Gorilla Glue" expands heavily almost like spray can insulator foam.

Gorilla glue worked perfect. I bought two clamps to squeeze the side together. The clamps left indentation on the suede/visor with light pressure. My drivers side was starting to peel so I separated that one as well and used glue and taped the edges together with painters tape. Worked much better

sorry didnt post back about the clamps crushing the foam, which is why I rec. tape only. Put it out in the sun or use a hot hair dryer on the crushed spots to make them pop back out.
