Seriously considering selling my E55...

It's not that I don't like the car, don't get me wrong. I love it. But I think now's a good time to sell her. She still has MaxCare warranty left which is transferable, she's purring like a kitten, in beautiful condition, and she's been mildly tuned.

That and I'm looking to move up into something more powerful w/a new warranty. A V12, naturally, heh.

Question is what do you think I can sell her for? '06, 118K miles, Premium package, nav, cd changer, brand new brakes & rotors. All service done at MB Foothill Ranch or MB Bakersfield.

Repairs that were done under warranty are as follows:

-New rear main seal
-ABC suspension
-New sun visors
-New alternator/batteries
-New idler pulley/belts
-New engine/tranny mounts
-All maintenance done on time, brakes flushed, trans flushed

Mods:

-EC Supercharger Pulley
-Kleemann Mid-Tube Headers
-Green Air Filters
-Secondary/Res Delete
-ECU Tune by OE tuning

Maxcare warranty is good until 125K miles or 2018, though I think the mileage will hit first, heh.

I'm in the same boat. I want to sell my car for one of three reasons. 1) start up capital 2) Put towards house 3) Buy a 911. #3 is seriously my favorite but least practical of all

Good luck with sale!

If you have all service records on-hand and the condition is as you stated, I would ask more like $19K and take anything over $17.5K. Any less and you'd be giving it away IMO.

KBB has the car at 16 without anything. That's way too low.

Whoever said 19 is more what I'm looking for. I'm hoping to get 20/21 once people look at it and see how it is. She's really in beautiful shape.

I'll take some pictures over the week & go from there. See what happens. Time for her to evolve engines.

OP-
Buy a C63 '507' Edition or hell, even a regular C63 and throw some mods. That car is AWESOME! Definitely my next vehicle, the way that car drives/shifts/sounds is simply intoxicating.

Older cars in general drop in value in the UK quickly. I'd sa at 15K the E55 is one of the best bang for bucks out there. When I used to drive mine a couple years ago to work people thought it was a new benz and thought I was some kind of exec lol

Realistically your likely looking at 16-18 for it. There are a ton of E55 AMG's on cars dot com for 18999 with 40 less thousand miles. All pending condition of course so 18 is not unreasonable for it, but 21 or so might be high. Price it at that and see what offers come your way, if nothing then drop it a little. Nothing wrong with starting off high.

I'll keep it in mind. I'm hoping the leftover warranty will entice buyers as the CarMax warranty is really amazing. Any repairs I have had on the car cost me only $50. The warranty covers the rest. You really can't beat that with another warranty.

DirtyTwo:

Glad to see you moved up to an E as well. Only thing is I'm not entirely sold on the idea of parting out. I think she's better off as a complete package, but we'll see what happens.

Good luck - it will def be enticing to someone - i'm in the same boat - except mine is due to a 2nd kid - want more space - the wife is leaning between GL and (CPO) E63 wagon - you know where i am leaning

I'd say list at $22K and go down from there - there is a buyer for everyone!!!!
realistically prob settle for 20K - someone will think they are getting a deal
