Hello every one. I didnt realize what i was getting myselft into when i was getting e55 amg. Now i do... I love the car, everything about. But its 2004 and needs some repairs. And there will be more to come as time goes on... I was wondering if i would be able to get a WARRANTY on 140,000mi car. What do you guys think? if so, should i get a warranty from MB or any other dealer. And what are my options. Appreciate your replies, thanks in advance
anyone will sell you anything for a price - a warranty would cost $5-8k at this point for a 10 year old car, if they'd back it in the first place...
many warranty companies only go back 6 years for coverage, but some will cover more... shop around and really price out the repairs with an indy shop vs dealer - you may not spend as much as it would cost buying the warranty

At 140k your options on a warranty are extremely limited. Anyone willing to cover a car at that millage will most likely only be drivetrain and limited at that. What problem are you having that you want/need a warranty?

I probably would be shocked if someone even offered anything. The other posters might be right, but I just don't think it will be out there. I just recently found out for my 07 e63 with 70k that the warranty company i went with is stopping all AMG warranties this summer. No more of them. They are too expensive and they lose money on every one. The Warranty companies know right off the bat that any AMG warranty is a loss, and big time. So most won't warranty to start after the 6 year mark.
Good luck but price would likely outweigh the repairs and at a certain point the car is only worth so much.

Unfortunately its going to be very difficult to find any type of warranty at this point. You also have to take into consideration the huge cost vs benefit at this point. Since most warranties arent going to cover much. At this point I would find a good mechanic and just understand there is going to be somewhat of a high cost of ownership. Sorry bro
I found this site, haven't heard of a lot of these - but can't hurt investigating

OP-
What maintenance items do you need to do that requires a warranty?
Do you work on your cars at all? Most of the basic maintenance items are actually very easy to do on these cars.
A warranty isn't always necessary unless you have a beat up vehicle that has been abused most of its life - in which case you're screwed either way. I agree with the above poster that you're probably not going to find a company that will warranty a 10+ year old AMG with that sort of mileage; and if you do, they will probably only cover a few items and charge you an arm & leg for the price.
Time to sell the car?
Some of the new owners need to realize that these cars were once $90+K brand new; and as such, their maintenance is on par with someone that could afford purchasing a vehicle with that sorta price tag on it.

Also, these cars are traded in for the very reason the OP is stating...too expensive to fix. The next owner inherits these issues unless they have a PPI done and they can find things wrong with it.Originally Posted by ArmoE55

Because my current extended warrenty is about to expire, I contacted Endurance (don't cover AMG) and Carchex.
Carchex said $8,000 for 3 years and 50,000 miles.
To me, not worth it.
