Hey guys, I just wanted to show you something pretty cool. Here is the new Carbon fiber intake plenum for the 210 E55 AMG. Check them out.

Honestly, I wouldn't put that on either of my AMGs. I doubt it will increase performance and the stock airbox looks good already. Just my opinion.

personally i like it. however, i can see that some people will think it's over the top. in my opinion, i think that the RBTech intake will be more widely-popular. you may want to look into RBTech maybe. however, GruppeM is very good reputation for quality and performance so far.

an airbox will never bee free flowing, its that simple, I am going to try and get dyno graphs. i would not be suprised if HP gain was well into double digits (20+HP gains). From just and intake, thats pretty darn good. that with headers and pulleys would yeild some amazing results. just my opinion

I think the airbox looks OK, but it lacks of emblems or an insignia, anyway, let us know how much HP it gives you, my guess is 7-10 HP at the most, I hope it gives more.

GruppeM's carbon fiber looks amazing, but their intakes are much more show than go. There is 10-13hp to be gained from changing filters on the 55. I doubt you will see more than that.

wow i always thought RBTech was pretty good. well, at least it's showy. so you lost power with the RBTech box for the 55? dang. doesn't RBTech make lots of stuff for the 55?

well this is all speculation. I plan to find out the old fashioned way and actually get it and compare dyno results
.
as far as it looking plain, I agree. I would probably get some big AMG sticker or something and put it across the middle.
The gruppeM will probably make 15 at the wheels as you stated (rememer it comes with K&N cone filter as well so its kinda like two intakes in one). however I think a big part of the intake is the noise. The engine roar probably sounds 10 times better than with stock piping and filters. The sound alone would probably be worth the $1950 MSRP price tag (though i would sell it for alot less).
anyways hope that helps.

heck if i had a w210 e55 i'd pay $2k no doubt to open up that V8 sound. must sound mean. gruppeM doesn't make an E55 exhaust right, just m3 and 360? oh yeah, are there any plans for the C32 GruppeM or is that just a rumor? thanks.

Which filters gained 10+ HP? I got an overpriced set from RennTech and both my butt dyno and G-Tech didn't register anything. Maybe just too sutble to tell off the dyno.

Yes they are the leading intake makers, They do make full carbon fiber intake systems for both Ferrari, mercedes, bmw and many other top notch sports cars. I will have more news in 2-3 weeks once paper work is finalized and etc.
Not sure honestly about the C32 but i would be money that they will be coming out with an intake for it. They already have one for the regular C-class so i suspect C32 AMG intake is not to far away.
hope that helps.
