Fastest 55 Record Full Weight 10.2 @ 136
Decided to go to MIR today and play with the fuel pressure since I couldn't get a tune done to get the afr's where I want them. Full weight, drove 2 hour to and from the track. Just added ice and changed intake setup when I got there. Tires still rubbing real bad on the launch and I'm pretty confident I can cut another 0.1 seconds off the 60' which should translate to 0.2 on the big end. Here is the break down of the run and I believe some guys got it on video (Mustang rental) and should have it loaded by Sunday.
60' 1.555
330' 4.336
1/8 6.616
MPH 107.76
1000' 8.577
1/4 10.235
MPH 136.17
Huge improvements were seen on same day after I tweaked fuel pressure. My first run was 10.5@133 before I messed with fuel pressure. Then I ran 10.2@136 with Ahmad tuning Imagine what it would do with an optimized tune and no tire rubbing!
Car is over full weight boost only. STOCK bottom end with over 100k mile junkyard motor. I will be back at the track Monday to make some changes and hopefully be in the 9s
Thanks to Weistec for the SC and Eurocharged for the base file that I tweaked fuel pressure to work better. And MIR for the track prep
EDIT: THIS IS A CLK55 NOT E55

You keep raising the bar everytime you make an outing...damn it!!....
Congrats bro, your car is very fast and seems to only get faster as you dial it in.

Very cool!!! So wait you are going to actually run your car at a rental you setup this Monday? LOL Do you have the time and a plan for a better rear alignment to avoid the rubbing? Lots of luck, looking forward to your runs.

Nice run … what were your AFRs?
Installing one of these is more effort than getting a good tune. But if you like to tweak stuff yourself this is OK. It's really just an Apexi S-AFC type of box but quite a bit cheaper … nice find.

Thanks!
Thanks. Can't wait to see yours done!
Thanks!
Haha knowing you, I'm gonna be chasing you again when you give in to temptation lol.
Thanks bro. I think you will like what I run Monday
Lol yes I will be attending my own rental. Yes. I thought raising the rear suspension all the way would be the ticket but I'm going to eyeball an alignment this weekend. Try to get zero or positive camber. KW V2 just aren't good for drag racing lol. Thanks
Thank you
Thanks! It's sponsored by my pockets haha
I sold my E55 a while ago. One of my CLK's is a CLK55 which is what this thread is about.
Thanks. It will be a great feeling when it finally hits single digits!
Weldon fuel pressure regulator
Thanks Robert. That's more of a band aid than an actual tune. I had one and gave it away.
Thanks. Yea that piece of mind is great! Now if only I can get the suspension set up and the tires to hook. Should cut an unreal 60'
Thanks Hopefully Monday will be 9s.
Thanks! Are you coming to MIR Monday?
Thanks! I can almost taste it
AFR's on that pass varied between high 10s and low 11s. I still want to lean it out a bit more. The AFR in the ECU tune are not flat across so when I change fuel pressure it just shifts everything.
Exactly. Too much effort and in the end just a band aid.

Damn bro, you'll be in the 9s before soon! Much respect for not giving up on your car and selling it, as I recall you mentioning. The wait is always a killer but I'm sure every time you line up on the strip it makes it all worth it.

Damn.. It's a bit mind numbing what you've done here, basically a 55k motor swap coupled to Weistec 2.9 Puffer into a clk55 n/a full weight etc etc.. Lets fast fwd to the obvious, it's 9.9x car after final tune in competent experienced hands.. Quite possibly few tenths lower in perfect air etc ...
Jeez talk about giant killer/ultimate sleepuur, do you realize this run is as fast as a stock Bugatti Veyrone? Your 0- 60mph time must've dipped into 2.5-2.6 second range lol.. This just makes me smile!
In your words "Using a 100k mi junkyard 55k engine" = Priceless!
