05 E55 AMG
My 05 E55 build

Bought the car in November of last year. I needed a daily driver and four doors so after months of looking around at different vehicles, I settled on the E55. It was hard to find and I almost drove out of state to find one but I got lucky and one was available locally. The plans for the car are to have a daily driven car with a little more than stock power. I have plan a pulley, a bigger throttle body and a tune as the only power mods I will do on this car. I dont know if I will change my mind later, we'll see!
As for looks, Im doing an E63 front end, wheels, tint, lowering, back CF diffuser, trunk spoiler, tint tailights and thats it.

First mod was ordered even before the car was mine
K&N filters

Next I ordered the Star badge to remove the Tri Star. I love the sleeker look and its a plus since people wont be able to rip out the Tri Star since its a popular emblem with thieves.

I then had Don Nguyen tint my tails and brake light. I love the way they came out.

After this I had the all windows tinted at a local Premier tint shop. I went with Spectra PhotoSync in a 55% shade. I wanted to keep that blue hue of the OEM glass but still have some tint on the windows for sun protection. I am super happy with the outcome and the cabin temperatures. I dont have any pictures right now showing the tint but I will update this later.

I then ordered Morimoto HIDs for headlights and fog lights. I love the kit and the quality but I wasnt to excited that I needed to modify the cables and the light bulb metal shield. I also cant get my fog lights to work without throwing codes. I tried different error eliminators and nothing. So I gave up on fogs and I dont even use them anymore.

An E63 trunk spoiler was then ordered to give the car a better look, in my opinion

I then ordered a cabin filter along with an oil filter and einszett gummi pflege to condition all weather stripping.

I also had ordered a Bosch 010 pump and some chrome turn signals at the time I got the HID kits but I havent had the time to install.
Another item sitting in my garage is a PLM heat exchanger. I will do the H/E and pump install in the future. I have the E63 front end conversion as well as a carbon fiber diffuser coming soon. I cant decide if I should buy a lowering module or lower with STAR. Im buying STAR either way but having the remote control of a lowering module in the car makes for easy adjustments and I love that.

Thanks for visiting. I will update as changes happen.

I like the slight tint on the tail lights. Did he do the entire light or cut outs around reverse lights?

Looks clean
Should have replaced the heat exchanger with an aftermarket one when the bumper was off.

Thanks RedBull!

He did the entire light Tx AMG

Shardul, I know but I didnt have it at the time. Its not bad to remove it. I actually think its super easy. On another note, Im planning to get the BWK and a SC pullet from you. Maybe even the idlers. I dont know when. Im waiting for a local shop to set up days for a dyno tune session.

The fog light issue maybe in how it is connected. I also have 2 pairs of cancelers like I used on mine in my garage. $10 and I will send you a pair, never used, to try.

Also I would suggest headers over the TB if you are just thinking SC pulley and TB. Adding more air is good but not when you can't get it out. If looking to keep cost down go Kleeman but will require a bit of fab work.

Black06c230,

I have a pair from the retrofit source and a pair from DDM tunning and neither worked. Im kinda thinking i might have a bad ballast. But thanks for offering. I might contact you in the future.

I do want to add headers but living in California, its a hassle to run anything longer than shorties.

Xenon lights were an option on the 05. I remember having to order a lighting package to get them along with some other equipment.

Yea, mine does not have HID's either. You would think that a $70-80k vehicle would at least come standardized with HIDS.
