Awesome, and I forgot to ask, do you, or anyone have the spec on bolt pattern and spacing?

Not near the car, nor if I was the wheels are on it....

If you mean bolt pattern between 5 holes, it should be 112....

I think you mean the small bolts with nuts(that attached the hat to the Rotor)..!,

Yes, correct. so its a 10 bolt system. The question is then, what is the dia of the of both the bolt holes, and what is the spacing (Dia.) of the bolts holes.

Think spacing like the distance of the wheel lugs (which on these cars is 112mm). If you measure across from one bolt hole to the one furthest away -measured center to center, how far is that distance

Does anyone know if we can purchase just the rings for our rotors and reuse the hats?

SSigarto;

That is what I am trying to spec out. If I can get all the measurements of the rotors, I can see if any of the custom rotor houses would make a group batch

so CMK60 if you have those hats, can you do some measurements for me? I need to know the size of the bolt holes and the spacing of them (dia across the hat or rotor)

I just look at the set of rotors I have and they are made by

Brembo...so Brembo might sell the Rings alone as a replacement..

I just called Tire Rack, they are a Brembo distributor, and they do not even offer a rotor for the E63. Also, Worldpac is a distributor for Brembo and they also do NOT offer a rotors for the E63, I cheched. It is most likely that Brembo makes them exclusively for MB, and MB charges us an arm and a leg for them.

1cerberus4u, if I can help, let me know. We most definitely can keep the hats and just replace the rings if we can find a set of rings.

This weekend I'm gonna take off a front and get the specs..... I was just being lazy and hoping someone on the list had already done it...

So what we know now is the front rotor is 360MM dia, by 36mm width. Hat is a 10 bolt system (guessing 6mm or 7mm holes) and the its just measuring rotor/hat dia

If someone has a front rotor (off the hat) lying around, just get some paper and trace it and send it to me!!! LOL

Best

if you are looking for replacements there are not a lot of options

either go OEM and pay through the nose or look at racing brake -

i know a few guys were looking at the one piece C63 rotors as an option but i feel that is cheeping out on a 100K car - IMHO

I made a few more calls and validated that indeed the E63 are Brembo made exclusively for MB. So we are crap out of luck in getting rings alone. Our choice is doing what 1cerberus4u is doing or getting a new complete set of front and rear set-up and the we can replace any part individually. There was a person / company in the Porsche community who made replacement rotors and I will try to get the name.

SSigaro, I am part of the Porsche community and have used machine shops for custom rotors in the past. No guarantees, but once I spec out the existing front rotors (Thanks to Zayed for sending an extra Hat to get specs), I'll look for a supplier and see what we can find

Thanks for chiming in Racing Brake!

Question, are your front replacement disks (rotor/ring only) compatible with the stock Mercedes E63 Hat?

Also, if so, how much for a set (front only) if rotors (rings as some on here call them)

Thanks!

No one make or sell a matching RING for E63 hats

They are made by Brembo for MB only.I have PN if if need.
I am sure if RB wanted to they could have make a matching ring but they wanted to sell a RB fully made part, ring and Hat
A few of us tried to locate rings and even MB does not sell the ring alone, its a package...we ask MB Private Loung why did MB make a 2 part rotor and not willing to sell the parts. It was due for safty as the DIY might not bolt the ring to the hat correct and cause a brake failure.
The C63 rotor wil work but the weight of the 211 will cause fading. I think C63 will work for a DD. I spend the money for an E and we should replace and upgrade the cars not downgrade....Plus the 2 piece just look sweet...
