Ok so before I get the" search first then ask " answer .. I did search ..lol Ok so I'm worried that I might get locked outside my own car ..key sometimes works perfectly and sometime I'm stuck there pressing the buttons till it finally opens ..I have to give lil hits..could this be the battery?I read that when battery is low the car will tell you when u put the key in the ignition ?true ?

It could be the battery or the IR sensor in the remote or the door. Chances are it's the battery since the remote still turns the car on I would eliminate the remote IR sensor so your best bet would be to change the battery then check the door sensor.

When I bend my key and press the button it works .....sometimes if I just press it regularly I get the same symptoms of you, but I've been lazy and haven't even replaced my key fob battery I bought my car in March of last year. ..... Basically I hold one finger at the tip of the key and one finger at the base of the key and when I press the button it bends the key fob and presses the button at the same time ....and it generally works always when doing that!

Remote battery. Battery is a 2032. Available just about anywhere that sells batteries. Takes about 30 seconds to replace it.

Yeah. I change mine about ever 6 months just as a routine maintenance item. It's possible your remote is defective. If it's got green sludge buildup or it's obvious that a solder joint is fractured on one of the contacts a new one may be in order. You will notice any thing obvious when you pull the guts out of the case to change the battery.

You do know about the key blade in the remote too right? If your remote battery is completly dead the blade will unlock the doors. The remote key will still start the car if its battery is dead. Key batteries can last 6 monts to 3 years depending on use and believe it or not storage temperature. Once a year is recommended by MB.
