I hope this is true. Maybe I could hop on a used E55 when the "E60" comes out. Will the car depreciate that much? How much have other AMG's gone down when they update it every 2 years?

LOL, Mercedes-Benz needs to update an already new E55 AMG to compete with the new M5? Scared they are, eh? BMW doesn't do these "up-dates" to compete, they make the car "perfect" from round one!

However, the "extra" power won't make up for crappy handling.

Now, now...I respect the fact the MB does updates. As does Porsche and nearly every other manufactuer. What about the wonderful iDrive?

Every auto manufactuer should update their vehicles year to year....it gives people a reason to but the ney model year.

You think BMW is perfect? Their quality issues on the 7 series have been a joke....as is the new 5 series interior. I still have a deposit on the new M5 even though I may not pull the trigger. I hope they "fix" the interior and use higher quality materials like MB does. Don't think for a second that BMW build perfection....or anyone else for that matter.

If this car is true, do you think MB will go with a 255 on the back? They seem to move backwards with tire size. They had better put some serious rubber on this car!

Another interesting point...it appears that MB DOES want to compete with BMW and the M5. We (including me) have all thought that they were after different markets...Should be interesting.

Who knows? FYI, that Auto Spies was from last July and how come we haven't heard this from anywhere else? They have a tendency to report a lot of bogus. For example, if you guys don't remember they reported the SL55 would probably have an exclusive manual transmission as an option around 18 months or so before it was released. This got me VERY excited and immediately I called my dealer to put in a deposit. Four months later, when it was time to build the car, there was no option for a manual. Chances are that MB will replace the E55 with something else in the next couple years, however, I would take whatever Autospies says with a grain of salt.
