looped fuel rail & return

Is anyone (other than Craig) running a looped fuel rail with a return line ? I am wondering if it would be beneficial to do this as well as an aftermarket FPR, fuel pumps, and external filters. Thanks in advance

I'm into this also! I'm past the service interval, and don't like the idea of buying parts known to fail on a regular basis.

Interesting. How/where does the fuel return to the tank? I agree that getting rid of that mess is a good thing. (so long as Frankensteinian surgery isn't required!)

Thanks for the pics! Do you recall if there is a Y or T anywhere in the stock feed line going from the back to the front?

Will this need the ECU recoded so that it doesn't throw a code?

Nice setup. I was hoping to also eliminate the factory pump. I guess it's good enough.

Nice stuff. What was the approximate cost of parts?

Pics need more instagram filters. I can still make out some of the colors :P

A kit would be a hot seller and especially if it had a pump replacement option. Our OEM pumps are stupid expense. I imagine a much better solution could be developed (in kit form) that was close to or cheaper than the $1000+ needed to replace oem..

I'd gladly spend the thousand to avoid oem in this case

I promise to get a kit together for the fellas. I have had a lot of PMS, just been busy trying to get my sled finished.

I will have a kit priced by the end of next week and could drive cost down even more if a group buy was started

Hi

Would the supercharger need to be removed to fit this kit? I only have a standard fuel rail at the moment.

Regards,

OZZYAMG

One can install a looped fuel rail with the supercharger still on the engine, so I would guess the same for the kit install.

Also, Craig is NOT using the OEM pumps. He had a thread about replacing the pumps with dual 340lph aeromotive pumps.

If you have a return line why would you need to loop rail?

Isn't a setup with a return line technically a looped rail ? I guess it just depends on where the line in and line out are located...

As i know; reason of looped rail, for eliminate possibility of starvation in the end of the rail (cylinder #8), during WOT or high rev situations...!

not sure why MB looped the rail for (4.2/5.0 M119 & SLR M155) only..!!!!

For the SLR it was because it has higher stock boost , that's why when adding boost to these engines smart move is to install a looped rail and bigger injectors
