Will do. Ill be running a haltech emulator 8, along with their elite ecu. The emulator gets the required outputs to look right, while required inputs will be ran in parallel. Nonetheless. Ill be the standing proof it can be done

I just took a look at this ecu and the CAN is not configurable. There are just preselected vehicles that they have done. And it clearly states that other systems do not work such as traction control. Have you spoken with Haltech about working with you on the CAN messaging?

The only fully configurable ecu that I know of is the Motec M1 with the Build package. Huge money and you are righting the entire firmware package for the ecu. Very complicated and large amounts of money.

Where did you find this traction control not available ? There's 4 inputs for hall effect sensors on the unit. Considering that we only have a cam, crank, and vss, we're only missing 1 front wheel speed sensor signal from the basis of controlling traction..
Fwss/vss = f(x), if f(x) sways +-10%, retard timing.

I say +-10%, but its really one way it needs to go, the value offering if the front wheels spinning faster isn't gonna happen.

Ive got some resources that ill be using to gather information for what haltech needs to know in order to get can communications with the car. As of right now, im more focused on getting fuel control, and ignition control in a piggyback fashion and addressing those issues accordingly.

I meant the factory systems.
If you are going to work with the CAN bus you do not need to wire up any wheel speed sensors. Just pull the data from the bus. Also you may find that reading the factory sensors on newer cars is not possible. They use a very distinct output voltage that is very low and but mostly there is a very high number of teeth or pulses per revolution. This pushes the frequency range over what most computers can read a relatively low speeds. I do not remember if the w211 still has a standard magnetic sensor on it or the newer 2 wire digital sensors.

Also, I am not trying to burst your bubble just pointing out things to look out for. Knowing what you are up against is always good. I have been looking at the M1 build for doing something similar.

That would be a great route if we could get some of the guys that worked on the EVO ecus on the case. There is a lot of talent out there that made what was supposedly impossible without standalone possible.

Sweet!! This should solve a lot of the issues people have been having, especially in the turbo conversions.
