--my new wheels--:)
After seeing both Denroll and Berti's threads regarding their new wheels, I thought I'd continue the trend with the title. ;-)
My car is a CLS55, not an E55, but the CLS55 subforum gets no traffic and I'm always on this subforum anyway so I thought it'd be better if I shared it with you guys.
After spending copious amounts of time researching, I finally made a decision on which new wheels I wanted for my CLS55. I knew that I had to get a wheel style that would compliment the aesthetics and body shape of the CLS, so it pretty much was between 5 spokes, and multispokes, as those two look best on the CLS (in my opinion, at least). Ultimately, the multispoke design prevailed in my thought processing, mainly because I liked the way it looked better, and they weren't as boring as the five spokes. However, I was really close to getting aftermarket 5 spokes in 20", but I chose against it because my OEM AMG 19"s were already 5 spokes and I wanted to go with a different design.
My CLS55 is black, and at first I wanted the wheels in black. But after months of deliberating, I decided against it. The CLS is a classy car, and unless pulled off correctly, black wheels on a black car can ruin the essence of the car's design. The wheels I got came in either silver or matte black from the manufacturer, but honestly, I think matte black just looks dirty. Had they came in gloss black, perhaps it would've been a harder decision to make. But now looking at my car with the new wheels on, I'm happy that I went with machined silver.
Without further ado, I present you my new wheels. They are 20" Niche Essen in machined/silver finish in 20x9" and 20x10.5" wrapped with 265/30-20 and 295/30-20 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. I think I'm one of the very few CLS owners who actually tried a 265/30-20 up front, and I'm happy that I did because the fitment looks crazy aggressive and I am having no rubbing issues whatsoever. I would've put a 305 in the rear, but they were like $120 more each tire from the place I was ordering from, and I didn't think it was worth it for the 10mm increase. Furthermore, after I had my wheels installed they told me the 295/30-20 was rubbing in the rear (not height rubbing, rather width rubbing) but I have not felt such rubbing yet, but perhaps a 305/30 might've rubbed.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, I'll be sure to take more when there's more light out.
Anyway, let me know what you guys think. I personally love them!

Thanks! I'm not lowered, but I put the car in Sport II for the pictures. However, I am planning on taking it somewhere to lower it by way of STAR. The very last picture, which I just added right now, shows the car's normal height and is not on Sport II.

Looking good! I'm a little jealous! I am a little disappointed but glad at the same time you don't have an E, because these are the exact wheels I have had my eye on, but I haven't seen them on a W211.

Thanks! What color is your E? I think they would look fantastic on an E. The good thing about the E is that it is way more accepting of different wheel styles, unlike the CLS due to its long length and shape.

Here. This thread should give you an idea of how these wheels would look like on a W211. They're not Niche Essen, rather Incurve IC-S10. However, color and shape is very similar.

Yes I know that...the InCurve IC-S10 looks very similar to the machined Niche Essen though. That's why I said you have good taste lol.

Title gave me a good laugh
Wheels look hot! I know 305's would add a little extra hotness, but you aren't kidding about those Michelin prices in a 305. Cheapest I could find anywhere was around $450 per tire, and that was before mounting and balancing. That's about one dollar per mile at the rate I go through tires. Besides, you'd probably have to do a little fender rolling to squeeze them in there.
