Hi
It seems that the following weblink has a pdf download that tells us how to reset the sbc tool with Star. Does anyone have a copy of this pdf with the instructions as I can't access it:

Not sure where I found this info, got info some time ago.
Make sure engine is running !!!
In Developer mode you need to go to Entwickelingsdaten - > ansteueringen -> Gesamstliste aller Ansteuerungen
to see how many times brake has been pressed there is a line that says: Bremsenzahler (DJ_GetBrLive)
then 1 line down there you see Bremsenzahler aktualisieren und Lebensdauerzahler F neu berechenen -> click it !
Parameter uINBR = 0
then click F3
1 line down Bremsenzahler auf beliebigen Wert setzen (DJ_SetNBr) -> click it
Parameter uINBR = 0
then click F3
then scroll down untill you see the line's :
Lebensdauerzahler F neu berechenen (DJ_CalcLiveTime)
Parameter uINBR = 0
then click F3
Lebensdauerzahler F neu berechenen und schreiben (DJ_BuildAndWriteF)
Parameter uINBR = 0
then click F3
Log out of SBC !!
log out of verhicle !!
let engine run at least 10 minutes or drive at least 10 minutes
If no coils are damaged , SBC fault code is not AKTUEL no more

Hi
Ok I went through the whole Star Diagnostic procedure and I still get the error "service brake/visit workshop" on my dash. It looks like I am forced to buy a new SBC unit and have a question.
I have been able to locate a brand new one locally and are hoping I can just install it without needing to bring my car to a Mercedes Stealership. Does anybody know if I can do it this way or does my car have to go to Mercedes for them to supply and fit the new SBC unit?
A brand new unit is about $1500 AUD from a company called mbspares that is local to me but don't do installations.
Mercedes want $5000 AUD plus labour to fit a new unit or $2600 AUD plus labour to fit a re-manufactured unit.
I also have a slightly used SBC unit with part number: A 005 431 97 12 but my currently installed SBC unit has a part number of 004 431 69 12 and have been told that the A 005 431 97 12 is not compatible with my car and don't want to fit it if it is not compatible or the right model for my car.

Hi
To biggking:
The last numbers of the faulty sbc unit in my car is:
0 265 250 026
The last numbers of the spare sbc unit I have is:
0 265 250 111
Are these the numbers you need to determine if I can use the spare sbc unit?
Regards,
OZZYAMG
