Biggest is not necessarily the best.

Fabtech and EC are some of the biggest ~1.8L IIRC

the EC cooler is pretty much a perfect fit into the space, but not sure on mounts
The Fabtech Gen1 is taller, Gen2 is more like the EC model

neither the fabtech or EC has a location for the factory oil cooler that's below the intercooler. Only the PLM has mounting equipment for the oil cooler.

The original poster has an '03, so I don't believe he has the oil cooler to deal with.

So with the fab tech has anyone done any data logging to see that the car doesn't heat soak like with the factory inter cooler? I read all kinds if diff opinions about how it doesn't make that much of a difference and others says it awesome,,,,does anyone have any proof that it's actually better?

The oem xchanger is small compared to any aftermarket xchanger so yes there will be better cooling

You are only swapping the heat exchanger for the intercooler circuit. There is no aftermarket intercooler option for these cars, unfortunately, unless you go with a a full aftermarket blower system.
