E55 AMG (W211)
Retrofitting C63 Facelift steering wheel to E55/E63

has anyone retrofitted a C63-steering wheel into an E-class (W211) or a CLS (C219).

Which parts are necessary to do so?

Sorry man!
If you do not have any idea/constructive input, shut up!

Here in Germany are a few people, who retrofit C63 MOPF-steering wheels in W211 or C219.
They also retrotit the steering wheels into a R230 and W171.
The retrofits are very expensive with about 2000€ (2600US$)

I want to know how it works, because it is possible!!

How about you open the thread with that knowledge next time? Your first post looks like someone who doesn't know if it's possible, so someone else responded with what they knew from experience. No need to jump his case.

You wrote nothing about trying C63-steering wheels in your car.
You only wrote it is impossible!
These are two completely different answers.

So, what did you try?
- Hardware changes?
- Changing the steering column module?
- Changing the contact spiral?
- Coding?

Maybe I did not know this before!?
Maybe I found this information after opening this thread/writing my first post?

I contacted one of these retrofitters yesterday.
He told me to use a special control unit, developed by himself, to enable the steering wheel in a W211.
He also told me about a lot of soldering work on the steering wheel board.

I asked to buy one of these control units and to get instructions about the soldering work, but he denied both.

Besides the work of getting the C63 steering wheel electronics to work, does the wheel physically fit the column shaft? I believe others have said that it does not.

Do you have company names of those who do the retrofit?

I retrofitted a W211 E63 wheel into my 2004 E55 (others said it was not possible).

Really you got it to work?! I have an 04 and gave up on the idea cause everyone said it would never work. Would you please post details on what is needed. This would make my day. (the old wheel sucks)

There are a few people on ebay.de, who retrofit these wheels.
With one of them I am in contact.
