Double Idler Torque Spec?

I just changed mine today and remembered how much leverage was needed to crack the bolt loose.

Once the bolt is hand tightened, I thought there was enough room. Will find out for sure on Wednesday when my 5-piece pulley set arrives. Thanks Shardul! :-)
There should be a torque specification and that could give him/I something to shoot for. 14Nm and 40Nm are "targetable" by hand a lot differently.

RikTT sorry to have doubted you. Just barely not enough room for a ratchet. Job is actually pretty easy. the main belt routing can be a pain if you have arms bigger than a 12 year old girl.

It's cool but as you found out, not fun w/o space. With the shroud on, it's a massive pain for a 10 min job. I had fun with slipping on the serp belt as well. I changed that out since I added a new SC belt too. I actually slipped it onto the tensioner pulley itself rather than back onto the double pulley. My arms are bigger than a 13 yr old girl

For anyone else tackling this (what should be) simple job removing the fan shroud takes less than 5 minutes and makes the job soooo much easier - just don't forget about that pesky little screw lurking underneath in the most difficult to find location. And if it's your first time (or second or third) have a diagram of the belt route handy.

All common replacement parts are listed in the sticky on the front page (I probably should have checked there first) which specifies a 2449 although I used a 2445 which seems to perform efficiently.

I just ran through the whole EPC system for the OP and I can't find a damn thing about the torque. Weird. I suggest finding the thread spec (is it an M10?) and use a best practices table for threading into aluminum media
Also, I ALWAYS pull the fan shroud... it takes 30 seconds and really helps with working on anything up front

Actually if I remember rightly it specifies 25Nm for Shardul's BWK idler torque so I imagine it would normally be 18-25. I've lost the paperwork though - I'm sure Shardul could set us straight...
