Thanks Craig!! You, Tony and BIP have always been helpful when I had any questions about how to get here. Tell Tony I said thanks too!! Hows the weistec setup working for you? I may consider next level as well. Maybe Whipple via Speedriven, forged pistons, and a small shot of Nos!!

E55 AMG Makes the Grade and Goes into the 10s

Over the past year, forum member "bstudey01" has been chasing the ever-elusive sub-11-second barrier with his 2003 E55 AMG. After working with a few speed shops and getting what they describe as a “killer race tune”, the car finally managed a 10.85 @ 128 mph.

Congratulations on the run OP. Car looks **** and sounds mean as hell. You mentioned you dropped the pressure on your Hoosiers, what did you drop them to? I dream of a 60ft like that .

Guy in the Honda probably doesn't even know he could get an E55 for cheaper than what he paid for his ride. LOL

They were at 19psi on this run. It can vary what works best depending on track conditions and temps. Best Advice would be to start off a little higher, maybe 23psi and back it down until you hook. The higher psi you can launch with the better as the car will roll down the track easier with higher tire pressures. I dont do anything really special. Just hold brake pedal down very hard, bring the rpms up to about 1300-1500, then smash gas and release brake at the same time. Also a really good burnout before helps too, only with drag radials though.

Thank you kind sir, I have the exact same drag wheel and tire which I haven't had the chance to use yet so thinking of using them at the last track day which is tomorrow. Thank you so much for the tips.
In your experience during burnouts with the drag radials, at what RPM do the wheels start to spin? I'd imagine around 2500-3000?

Burnouts I just hold the brake and nail the gas, they will probably spin before 2500rpm. Also I put my car in dyno mode anytime at the strip.
