Introduction

Hi All,

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Chris. Some of you might recognize me from the C32 message board. I just sold my C32 and bought an E55. Really looking forward to getting into it. It should be delivered by the end of this week. Completely stock with exception of the E63 front end. I've been getting familiar with all of the preferred mods and vendors on this board and already have plans to install a new heat exchanger, engine bay tank, and idler pulley set. I imagine by then I'll be itching for more power and will be set up pretty nice to go and get it.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks. If I'm going to take the bumper off, I might as well.

Greetings from South Africa. I also had an '02 C32 and just got my '03 E55 last year. You will find the build quality 1000 times better on your new beast and the power unbelievable. The mods are very similiar to the C32 except this monster requires quite a bit of cooling.
Replace your IC pump first with a Bosch 010 or Johnson CM30 as the OE ones tend to fail. Happy modding.

Yeah, but I'll be installing the heat exchanger at the same time. Then I won't have to deal with that stupid wheel well access door. (at least I'm assuming it's the same as the C.)

Sold - 05' E55
You should really enjoy the "e" after having your "c". The new c63's are awesome, but I still like the torque/hp of the e55.

Don't worry about that access door, you just remove the big plastic cover under and behind the bumper and you will have all the access you need - 6 x 8mm screws.

I almost pulled the trigger on an E63 until a member on here pointed me toward the headbolt issue thread.

You will really enjoy the E55 coming from a C32 it's a bigger and badder beast altogether. What year did you get? If it's an '06 then don't worry about the IC pump as the oe was upgraded.

It's an '05. I was about to pull the trigger on a clean '06 when it got bought out from under me. I found the '05 as clean and with similar mileage for 5k less. So I figured F it.
