Anyone have an 04 E55 from MI that caught on fire?

Im tying to see if the owner of the car is on the forum. It looks like he should be since it has a weistec blower, chill tank and some more stuff, its hard to tell of more mods since the car caught on fire inside and in the front. The back of it did not catch on fire. Its a 2004 E55 Black with I think 18 or 19" E63 or CLS63 wheels

Man, I feel so bad for the owner. I can't imagine what it feels like to helplessly stand there while the car you put so much time, effort, and money into burns to the ground.

Fire extinguishers are cheap. I picked up a 2-pack (like the rapper!) at Costco for $35. One I keep in the trunk and the other one is mounted to the wall in my garage. Most fires start fairly small, but with no way to extinguish them, they grow. I've seen pics of a Mercedes fire extinguisher that fits in one of the seat compartments like the first aid kit. I wanted to buy one, but didn't see any on eBay.

Lastly... what's up with that supercharger? Hmmm...

Very doubtful. You've got seals, electronics, any non hard parts are completely destroyed

Unfortunately, this thing is likely not worth more than scrap weight. When the electronics went, the engine could've gone shortly thereafter.

How often do these things burn down? This looks like a very fast burn

The past two (if you saw the picture before he took it down) have appeared to burn quickly. Quick enough to result in no chance of being put out.

I'm amazed at the fenders and hood. It looks like the fire/flames were so hot it melted the steel in several areas. With every single window missing and the hood distorted like that, I wonder if there was an explosion?

THE INTERNET IS FOREVER........

Anyone have an 04 E55 from MI that caught on fire?-e55onfire.png

Front fenders melting is probably not much of a surprise as they are aluminum, not steel. The melting point is quite a bit lower than steel.

This stuff never happens with a Toyota LandCruiser by the way. [/wink]

I did not realize that! I thought it was 100% steel. LandCruiser forever .

Still looking for another one.
