I use a AUX cassette to play music from my phone. Now, the tape is stuck in the deck but I get no malfunction or warning of any kind. I tried prying it out and disconnecting the battery but nothing worked. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to eject the tape?

OP you are in the wrong forum, this W211 AMG.
A tape player would lead one to believe you have a W210 AMG.
Both 210 & 211 are E55's

Pretty much anything you want. Any of the new 6"+ touch screen units from Pioneer, Alpine, etc should work and look more or less stock. You just have to buy adapters to have it link in to the OEM system, and a faceplate to make it look right.

No they didn't. Tape decks didn't exist for the W211.

The 2003 E55 came with the audio50 head unit which had a tape player.

Not sure if you can still get the opti 1 harness, or if they now have a different pnp harness. But once you figure that out, you can't go wrong with Kenwood being they use garmin navi. That's what I went with

you can upgrade to the navi deck from the 04+ e55s if you have HK audio. it's plug and play.

Thanks for the suggestions. I heard that since I have the audio 50 with H&K audio, it's pretty much pnp.

100% plug and play. Pick one up off ebay and you can install in about 15 minutes. Super easy and well worth it. Also pick up the aux in cable so you can play music from phone/ipod without having to do the tape deck trick.

yes the full screen command. If you get the European version you can watch dvds on it too

I hate to be one of the lucky ones, but my W211 has a tape deck. Just as previous posts have stated, the Audio 50, which is the headunit without the navigation screen, includes a tape deck.
